Toolmaker / Maintenance Engineer/Trainee/Apprentice Location: RCT Area Shift Pattern: Days and Afternoons Salary: Competitive dependent on experience Job Type: Permanent Overview A well-established manufacturing business based in South Wales is seeking a Toolmaker / Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team. This is a varied, hands-on role working with lathes, CNC machinery and milling equipment, supporting both tooling and machinery across the site. The business is open to experienced engineers as well as trainee or early-career candidates who are looking to build a long-term career in engineering. The Role Manufacturing, modifying and repairing tooling and components Operating and maintaining lathes, CNC machines and mills Supporting planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery Mechanical fault-finding on spindles, bearings, drives and moving parts Working from engineering drawings and specifications Assisting with breakdowns and continuous improvement activities Maintaining high standards of health, safety and housekeeping What Were Looking For Experience as a Toolmaker, Maintenance Engineer, Machinist or similar OR A trainee / early-career engineer with college-level engineering qualifications Exposure to machining, CNC, lathes or milling machines Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills Willingness to learn and develop across both tooling and maintenance A positive attitude and strong work ethic Whats On Offer Opportunity to develop within a dual-skilled Toolmaking / Maintenance role Training and support for trainee or developing engineers Long-term, stable employment within a reputable manufacturer Exposure to a wide range of machinery and tooling Competitive salary with progression as skills develop This role may also be of interest to candidates with experience as a Toolmaker, Toolroom Engineer, Toolroom Technician, CNC Toolmaker, CNC Machinist, CNC Miller, CNC Turner, Manual Machinist, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical), Maintenance Technician, Plant Maintenance Engineer, Workshop Engineer, Production Support Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer.
