We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our Head Office Commercial team as a Buyer. This role involves a blend of sales analysis, supplier management, marketing coordination, and product development to drive our business forward. Sterling Supergroup Ltd, based in Maldon, Essex is a not-for-profit true members co-operative supporting 33 wholesale foodservice businesses throughout the UK and Ireland, all or our members are family-owned and operated. Duties • Supplier Management: Meet and vet new suppliers, negotiate terms, and monitor performance with key suppliers., • Product Sourcing: Source new products that align with our brand and market needs., • Promotion Management: Manage various promotions to enhance product visibility and sales., • Pricing Updates: Update pricing information every week., • Sales Analysis: Analyse past sales data to identify trends and opportunities., • Buying Meetings: Attend monthly buying meetings to discuss own label contracts, • Own Label Development: Develop, negotiate, and manage Sterling’s Caterers Essentials branded products in liaison with suppliers., • Quality Control: Conduct sample testing to ensure product quality., • Marketing Coordination: Coordinate marketing and advertising efforts to boost promotions., • Business Development: Visit members and suppliers to strengthen relationships and explore new opportunities., • Newsletter Production: Produce a weekly newsletter to keep stakeholders informed. Experience • Proven experience in a buyer role, • Strong negotiation skills, • Knowledge and experience of foodservice essential, • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, • Proficiency with Office Programs, particularly Excel Travel will be required monthly.
