We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to provide exceptional clinical support in a fast-paced cardiology setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to ensure efficient patient flow and support for a variety of clinical functions. • Ensure efficient patient flow by preparing treatment rooms and equipment for patient examinations., • Provide procedural support following department-specific guidelines., • Conduct initial intake of patients, including interviews to obtain chief complaints, vital signs, and allergy information, and accurately record patient information., • Perform daily Quality Controls (QC) for all Point of Care (POC) testing and obtain specimens., • Perform and record patient POC testing as per policy., • Track and retrieve patient lab/diagnostic testing results under provider or RN direction for timely provider review and follow-up., • Perform administrative functions of the patient prescription renewal process under provider or RN direction., • Provide cross-coverage for other clinical roles as needed., • Support departmental medical record audits and maintain appropriate inventories of medical supplies., • Clean and stock patient care rooms between patients., • Accurately document patient information on appropriate forms and demonstrate accuracy in data entry and retrieval of electronic/paper patient records., • Medical assisting experience, preferably 3 years., • Knowledge of cardiology and medical terminology., • Proficiency in appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and front desk operations., • Must hold a Medical Assistant Diploma., • Reliable and punctual with strong customer service skills., • Experience in patient care, phlebotomy, internal medicine, and administrative support., • Ability to perform manual vitals and EKGs., • Familiarity with medical monitors and EPIC systems., • Ability to travel to satellite locations when required., • Understanding of infection control, risk management, and environment of care policies. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Patchogue, NY. The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
