Job Description JOIN OUR NETWORK OF REGIONAL RECESS COACHES Join us at Kids in the Game to help us change the way kids play! Be part of a team dedicated to providing enriching recess experiences for children, fostering their growth, and promoting a love for physical activity and learning. If you have experience leading games for large groups of kids, want to become a PE teacher or stronger coach, or already have an educational background in physical education and sports management, this role is for you! Duties and Responsibilities: General responsibilities include (but are not limited to): • Teaching a rigorous college preparatory curriculum that combines the school’s standards and the New York State standards, • Teaching students in a high-quality, exciting way, • Committing to constant professional and personal growth through working closely as part of a team of teachers, • Using data to drive decisions, • Constantly assessing student progress and communicating results to families and colleagues, • Providing individual or small group instruction for students who need additional assistance, • Modeling KIPP NYC’s character strengths in all interactions and communications with students, families, and staff.Qualifications, • Strong interpersonal skills that contribute to a collegial working environment and a healthy measure of the character traits we value: zest, grit, hope, social intelligence, gratitude, and a sense of humor., • At least two years of teaching experience is strongly preferred, • New York State teacher certification in the appropriate content area, • Bachelor’s degree required, • A passion for being part of a team-oriented, mission-driven school culture, • A strong desire to become a better teacher by joining the KIPP NYC team, • Demonstrated success in raising the achievement levels of students within our KIPP NYC communities Additional Information Compensation and Benefits: KIPP NYC offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,829 - $136,704. Salaries are determined using an equitable compensation scale that accounts for years of experience relevant to the role, NYS initial or professional certification, and longevity within the KIPP network. KIPP NYC will evaluate a candidate’s years of experience, certification, and longevity at the point of hire to determine the step/level a new hire will be placed within our teacher salary scale.
