Estimator Location: Long Island, NY or New York City, NY Employment Type: Full-Time Industry: Commercial Construction, Architectural Trades, Interior Build-Outs, Finishes Compensation: Competitive salary + benefits About the Role We are seeking a highly driven, detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical estimating skills with a proactive, relationship-based approach to winning work. It requires communication, follow-through, trade coordination, field awareness, and the ability to build competitive, complete, and thoughtful bids. Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Bid Support • Build and maintain strong relationships with Clients, subcontractors, and material suppliers., • Solicit and level pricing from key trade partners/suppliers., • Support bid strategy development in collaboration with project executives, operations, and leadership., • Participate in preconstruction discussions with owners, architects, construction managers, and general contractors as needed.Estimating & Preconstruction, • Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial interiors, • Review and interpret architectural drawings, finish schedules, specifications, addenda, and RFIs., • Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing analysis using industry tools such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, Excel, and related estimating software., • Identify scope gaps, coordination issues, constructability concerns, and value engineering opportunities., • Evaluate labor productivity, material lead times, sequencing constraints, and phasing impacts to support accurate pricing.Cross-Functional Collaboration, • Work closely with project managers, field teams, design professionals, and company leadership throughout the estimating process., • Present estimate summaries, cost breakdowns, value engineering ideas, and bid assumptions clearly and professionally., • Support a collaborative, team-oriented approach to preconstruction and project planning.Continuous Improvement, • Track actual costs versus estimated values to improve future pricing accuracy., • Support the ongoing improvement of estimating templates, tools, workflows, and internal processes., • Ensure compliance with project-specific requirements, owner standards, and applicable code or specification impacts on pricing.Qualifications, • 3+ years of construction estimating experience., • Experience estimating commercial interiors., • Strong proficiency in Bluebeam, Excel, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, or similar estimating tools., • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and finish schedules,, • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment., • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills., • Bachelor’s degree preferred.What Will Make You Successful in This Role, • You are proactive, resourceful, and responsive., • You take ownership of your work and follow through consistently., • You understand the importance of both field conditions and document review in developing strong estimates., • You are comfortable working across teams and communicating with a wide range of project stakeholders., • You are detail-oriented and understand that success in our work often comes down to the details and follow-through.Why Join Us, • Competitive compensation package, • Full benefits, • Exposure to high-profile commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects across the New York region, • Opportunity for growth within a strong and evolving organization, • Diverse and challenging project portfolio
