Job DescriptionJob Title: General LaborerJob Description This role involves performing a variety of physical tasks to support operations at a large wash plant facility. The general laborer loads and unloads materials, handles and moves construction materials, assists with concrete labor, and helps keep the jobsite clean, organized, and safe. The position requires consistent manual labor, attention to detail when picking and sorting materials, and a strong commitment to following safety procedures and using proper personal protective equipment. Responsibilities • Load and unload materials from trucks and other equipment in a safe and efficient manner., • Haul and move construction materials throughout the wash plant and jobsite as directed., • Perform concrete labor tasks, including assisting with preparation, handling, and cleanup related to concrete work., • Pick, sort, and organize materials to ensure proper handling and storage., • Clean and maintain the jobsite, including removing debris, sweeping, and keeping work areas orderly., • Use hand tools and basic construction tools to support daily operations and material handling tasks., • Handle construction materials in stockroom or storage areas, ensuring items are properly placed and accessible., • Follow OSHA and site-specific safety guidelines at all times, including proper use of PPE., • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and reporting hazards., • Remain open to feedback and follow directions in a structured, corporate-style facility., • Support general labor and manual labor tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly.Essential Skills, • Experience performing general labor and manual labor tasks in a construction or industrial environment., • Ability to safely load, unload, haul, and move materials throughout a jobsite., • Experience with construction labor, including basic concrete labor tasks., • Ability to use hand tools and basic construction tools for material handling and jobsite tasks., • Understanding of OSHA safety principles and commitment to following safety procedures., • Knowledge of maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free worksite., • Ability to follow instructions, accept feedback, and work effectively in a structured environment., • Physical ability to perform repetitive lifting, carrying, and manual labor for the full work shift.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • OSHA 10 certification., • Experience working in construction material handling, stockroom, or similar environments., • Familiarity with PPE requirements and safe work practices in an industrial or construction setting., • Ability to work cooperatively with team members in a large, corporate-style facility., • Strong work ethic and reliability in maintaining attendance for early morning shifts.Why Work Here? The facility is strongly safety- and PPE-driven, requiring consistent use of appropriate protective equipment and adherence to established safety protocols. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Farmingdale, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
