We are seeking a Waste Collection CDL Driver who will be working out of our Jersey City Depot (264 Broadway, Jersey City, NJ 07306) servicing NYC Routes and reporting to the Site Manager but is also subject to supervision by Route Supervisors and Dispatchers. This is a full time, Union, non-exempt, hourly position with an overnight schedule starting anywhere between 7pm and 9pm but may vary depending on business needs. Shifts may vary from 10 to 12 hours per evening or until the route is complete. This Depot will be servicing our NYC routes. Working alongside a Helper, our Waste Collection CDL Driver’s main responsibility is to safely operate a rear-loading truck, for the pick-up service of bags or containers filled with waste or recyclable material. Drivers transport the material to a disposal, transfer or recycle facility, and may make one or more trips throughout the shift. Essential Job Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.: • The driver is responsible for safely operating the truck in compliance with IWS’s safety standards as well as OSHA and DOT regulations, and local traffic laws., • Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using utilizing standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report); notes all issues on DVIR form for corrective review/repair., • Ensuring that the container and its content are always secure. This includes periodically checking tarps and ties, and may require the driver to climb onto containers and/or reach overhead., • Perform pre- and post-route inspections of assigned truck and document any safety issues on standard reports., • Continuously monitor for safety and service-related issues, as well as containers of other equipment in need of repair, and report any issues to the Route Supervisor or Dispatch., • All IWS employees are expected to be responsible and accountable for the safety for themselves, their colleagues, the trucks, and other equipment and property. Drivers must immediately notify Route Supervisor or Dispatch of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage., • Communicate professionally with customers and Dispatchers at all times. This includes receiving complaints about schedules and quality of service. Our Drivers must make note of and report on any such complaints and respond in a courteous and respectful manner., • Attend all required training, operational meetings, and mandatory monthly Safety Meetings, • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards, • Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements and Qualifications::, • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States., • All Drivers must have a valid Class A or B CDL and a clean driving record., • At least 1 year of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL A or B, within the last 7 years. Experience as a Driver or Helper for a refuse company is highly preferred., • Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA and applicable traffic regulations., • Must be able to speak and read English well enough to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic and signals, respond to official questions, and be able to make legible entries on reports and records., • Must be able to read and understand a map, • Must be able to meet the physical and safety requirements of the position., • The Driver position may be required to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as mount and dismount the truck multiple times every route., • Must be able to work outdoors in all kinds of weather. *Important you are able to work on the 1st shift (6:45 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.) for 4 weeks to train. Then will be assigned to the 2nd shift (3 p.m. – 11:45 p.m.) or the 3rd shift (10:30 p.m.- 7:15 p.m.) depending on availability. Job Purpose Able to perform various inspecting, labelling and packaging operations. Tends machines that perform one or more packaging functions, such as packing, or bundling. Major Accountabilities • Handling of components on packaging line and monitors for defects., • Inspects filled container or package to ensure product is according to specifications., • May weigh finished products to detect missing components., • Clears line culls and documents all components discarded., • Prepares shippers, inspects finished product and packages into shipper. Seals, labels, and stacks shipper., • Fills cartons, carriers or shippers by hand with product, labels, literature or applicators., • Performs cleaning tasks on machine during or after machine operation., • Maintains compliance with SOPs, good documentation practices (GDP), training requirements, Company and safety policies and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)., • Verifies correct lot code/exp. date on all pkg. components/finished goods., • Performs packaging line assignment maintaining line throughput and quality standards., • Contributes to the team by supporting other lines and roles as necessary to maintain operational efficiency., • Performs rework/re-inspection of components/finished goods with minimal conversation and focus on product defects., • Performs various housekeeping duties such as sweeping/mopping floor, cleaning equipment, fixtures, windows, and walls as needed., • Perform minor adjustment on the equipment and documents work performed., • Participates in training of new employees., • Adheres to all applicable procedures, cGMP’s, company policies, and all other quality or regulatory requirements (OSHA, DEA, FDA, EMEA, ANVISA, HS&E, etc.)., • Ensures all work is performed in a safe, effective manner, and in compliance with the appropriate industry and regulatory (FDA, DEA, OSHA) standards, and Departmental, Plant, and Corporate quality and safety Behaviors. Note: This position may require the labeling, packaging or movement of hazardous (flammable, corrosive, toxic, etc.) waste within the facility. If so, employee requires training under OSHA’s HAZWOPER standard, 29 CFR 1910.120 as an 8-Hour first responder, 24-Hour incident commander, or a 40-Hour incident commander. In lieu of HAZWOPER training, the employee will receive training on the requirements of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act pursuant to 40 CFR 265.16. All employees that have received the above-mentioned training upon hire will receive annual refresher training that covers the OSHA HAZWOPER standard and the requirements of RCRA. Job Description Shift: Mon (8am - 6pm), Tue - Thu (8am - 5pm) w/rotating Sat (7am - 3:30pm) PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES: Duties may include but are not necessarily limited to the following: • Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc., • Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures, • Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required, • Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles, • Fully understand all of the physicians' orders, • Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order, • Checks all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct, • Package specimens for transport, • Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen., • Understands and complies with OSHA and DEP regulations, • Wears appropriate attire including all PPE, • Attend annual department trainings, • Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries, • Other duties as assigned
