Job Description Digital Development Summer Internship Newsday offers 10-week, paid summer internships for college juniors, seniors and recent graduates who are preparing for careers in computer science or web development. The internship, which will take place at Newsday's headquarters in Melville, New York, is a unique opportunity for student developers to work side by side with professionals on our print, digital and television platforms, helping to build and maintain features that power our internal production and customer facing products. This 10-bed program will provide short-term, recuperative care for individuals experiencing homelessness or unstable housing who are recovering from or preparing for surgery. The Respite Support Staff provides assistance to recipient's nonclinical needs including providing minimal assistance with ADLs and conferring with recipients care team, providing a safe, supportive and clean environment for recipients in medical respite program POSITION RESPONSIBILTIES · Provide general safe, supportive, environment for recipients in medical respite program · Monitoring and providing guidance to assist recipient in performing basic activities of daily living · Notify care team and Administrator of any changes or unusual conditions of recipients or of emergencies · Maintain knowledge of general whereabouts of each recipient, recording daily census and daily wellness checks · Prepare and serve 3 meals and 2 snacks per day · Daily cleaning of medical respite program · Launder linens of program · Observe, monitor and record recipients' conditions, including incident documentation · Conduct monthly fire drills as assigned · Adhere to Mercy Haven and DOH policies, procedures and regulations · All other relevant duties as assigned POSITION REQUIREMENTS · High School Diploma or equivalency · Current or prior registration as a certified nurse assistant, home health aide, or personal care worker; or one year of experience in the provision of services to persons experiencing homelessness or adults residing in a facility subject to licensure and oversight by the Department, OPWDD, OMH, or OASAS · Electronic Health Record experience preferred · Requirements: Sits, stands, stoops, squats, walks, and moves intermittently during work hours, may push or pull 10-15 pounds daily, may push or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally · CPR and First Aide Certification required · Successful completion of annual Physical and PPD POSITION RELATIONSHIPS Reports to: Administrator SCHEDULE: Sunday-Monday 7am-3pm Friday-Saturday 3pm-11pm Wednesday-Thursday (Overnight) 11pm-7am Sunday-Tuesday (Overnight) 11pm-7am Friday-Saturday(Overnight) 11pm-7am PAY RATE: $18.50 per hour LOCATION: Bayshore, NY BENEFITS: • Full Benefits Package including Medical, Company-Paid Dental and Vision Single Coverage. Job Description POSITION SUMMARY The Designer is an entry-level role responsible for supporting the design, development, and execution of high-quality print, digital, social and multimedia marketing materials that strengthen and extend the Newsday brand. This position aids consumer brand marketing efforts to drive awareness, engagement, and subscription growth across platforms in a fast-paced news media environment. Ideal for a motivated candidate with strong foundational skills and a keen eye for design, this role offers hands-on training and opportunities to grow under experienced leadership. RESPONSIBILITIES • Assist in conceptualizing and executing creative solutions that align with marketing strategies and brand objectives, from initial concepts through final production., • Support the design of print and digital marketing assets, including brand and editorial promotions, emails, flyers, brochures, presentations, social media creative, web elements, and event signage., • Collaborate with the Associate Creative Director, and cross-functional partners to contribute to advertising, marketing research, and brand initiatives., • Participate in meetings with internal clients and stakeholders to understand project goals, timelines, and creative requirements, and offer design input., • Help prepare and manage files for production, including text input, image sourcing, color correction, and proofreading., • Incorporate revisions and refinements based on feedback while adhering to deadlines., • Assist in tracking projects through the full production lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and on-time delivery., • Contribute to managing digital assets and maintaining organized storage and archiving systems.
