American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: CVICU, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: ASAP, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Mar 16, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of an acute care hospital, • Patient population includes fresh open hearts (CABG, MVR, AVR, TAVR), ventilated patients, and patients with chest tubes, lumbar drains, and chronic or acute renal failure, • Patient ratio of 1:1–2, • Specialized procedures and equipment include Swan-Ganz/PA lines, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, A-lines, temporary pacers, Impella, IABP, CRRT using Prismaflex/Prismax, and ventilator management, • Charting system: Epic (preferred experience), • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30, • Every other weekend and holiday coverage required (must be available for 2 of 3 holidays), • Travelers will float to all ICUs, PACU, ED for ICU holding patients, and all IMC units, • No block schedulingRequirements, • Active NJ or Compact RN license required, • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and IV Certification (Peripheral IV and Central Line Education Package), • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required, • CVICU experience with fresh open hearts (CABG, MVR, AVR, TAVR) required; SICU candidates may be considered with initial CVICU training, • Required skills include Post-Op Open Heart Recovery, Swan-Ganz monitoring, A-line management, temporary pacers, ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP assistance, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, 12-lead EKG, Impella, IABP, and CRRT (Prismaflex), • SSN and DOB required for considerationAdditional Information, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply, • Local candidates are accepted, • Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the RWJBH health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment, • RTO requests must be submitted prior to offer; requests made after an offer will not be accommodated, • Epic training modules are completed prior to start and are non-billable (approximately 18 hours for RNs), • All required certifications must be in hand at time of consideration or confirmed to be obtained prior to start date, • Charge nurse experience is preferred, • Epic EMR experience is preferred, • Two current references are required for consideration With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
