Position Overview The Food Safety & Quality Assurance Specialist plays a critical role in supporting food safety, regulatory compliance, and product integrity across the organization. This position serves as a subject matter resource for food safety and labeling compliance, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to regulatory standards across a diverse product portfolio. This is an office-based, non-laboratory role that requires regular in-person collaboration as part of a hybrid work schedule. Key Responsibilities • Communicate directly with suppliers to obtain accurate and complete product, ingredient, and compliance documentation, • Partner cross-functionally with internal teams to support the timely introduction of new products, • Research and evaluate ingredient statements, allergen disclosures, GMO status, and gluten claims for regulatory compliance, • Review and verify ingredient declarations, nutrition facts panels, and net weight statements to ensure compliance with applicable labeling laws, • Assess supplier documentation to confirm compliance with internal standards and federal, state, and local regulations, • Ensure accuracy and consistency of product specifications across multiple suppliers, • Minimum of 2 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, food technology, or a related role within food manufacturing and/or food import environments, • Working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, ISO standards, and applicable FDA and USDA regulations, • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Word, • Foundational knowledge of food safety, nutrition, and general food science principles, • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Nutrition, or a related discipline, • Culinary education combined with relevant professional experience will also be considered, • Strong research, investigative, and data evaluation skills, • Ability to compile, analyze, audit, and verify technical documentation, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing, • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accurate, with strong problem-solving abilities, • Base salary range: $55,000–$67,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications, • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and life insurance This organization is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, disability, or other protected characteristics.
