Mortgage Closing – Job Posting This full-time role is on-site, Monday – Friday, typically 9am to 5pm, at our corporate office in Cranford, New Jersey. We are seeking an experienced, Closer who will play a critical role in ensuring that all loans are properly closed and documented, post-closing tasks are efficiently handled, and all compliance and regulatory requirements are met. This position will require attention to detail, organizational skills, and a deep understanding of real estate lending processes. You will work closely with originators, underwriters, and borrowers to ensure the timely and accurate closure of loans, as well as proper post-closing document management. Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree preferred., • Three plus years of experience within lending as a Closer or title/paralegal experience, • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, • Strong attention to detail and accuracy Responsibilities: • Title Review: Review of title commitment to ensure accuracy, lien priority, and compliance with underwriting., • Prepare Loan Documents: Prepare all legal documents utilizing our document system and ensure compliance with the terms of the loan agreement. This includes reviewing promissory notes, deeds of trust, and title insurance policies., • Ensure Proper Homeowners Insurance (HOI): Verify that the borrower has obtained the proper homeowners insurance coverage as required by the lender. Ensure that the policy is in place and the coverage meets the company’s standards before proceeding to close., • Preparation of Funding Memo: Coordinate the internal release of funds with our accounting group., • Quality Control: Double-check all closing documents for accuracy and completeness to prevent delays or issues post-closing., • Document Management: Ensure that all post-closing documents are organized and filed in the system. This includes scanning and uploading executed loan documents and ensuring compliance with company standards., • Tracking Loan Files: Monitor and track the loan file post-closing to ensure all documents are recorded with the county, title policies are issued, and any other follow-up actions are completed., • Servicer Onboarding: Complete boarding form and provide required documents to board with Servicer., • Payoffs / Lien Releases: Order payoff statements from our Servicer and coordinate the preparation of lien releases once the loan is fully paid off or refinanced., • Issue Resolution: Proactively handle any issues or discrepancies with loan documents or disbursement of funds that may arise after closing.
