Job DescriptionJob Title: WelderJob Description Join a growing manufacturing operation that fabricates high‑quality steel frames and cabinets used in server rooms, data centers, and other critical data storage applications. This welding role focuses on TIG and MIG welding on stainless steel and aluminum to build frames, shelving, and related components to precise customer specifications. You will use your welding expertise and blueprint reading skills to produce durable, accurate assemblies that support the expanding data and technology industry. Responsibilities • Perform TIG and MIG welding on stainless steel and aluminum components to fabricate frames, cabinets, and shelving according to customer specifications., • Execute straight welds and plug welds, including lap joints, tee joints, and butt joints, ensuring strong, clean, and structurally sound connections., • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand dimensions, tolerances, and assembly requirements before starting work., • Assemble parts and subassemblies prior to welding, verifying fit and alignment to maintain product quality and consistency., • Use grinding, sanding, and deburring techniques to finish welded parts, remove excess material, and prepare surfaces for final use or further processing., • Inspect completed welds and assemblies for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as needed., • Maintain an organized personal workspace, including tools, equipment, and materials, to support efficient and safe production., • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and contribute to a clean, well‑ventilated welding area., • Collaborate with team members and leads to meet production goals, support continuous improvement, and ensure on‑time delivery., • Care for assigned tools and toolbox, reporting any maintenance needs and helping keep the welding area in optimal working condition.Essential Skills, • Hands‑on experience with MIG welding on stainless steel and aluminum in a production or fabrication environment., • Ability to perform straight welds and plug welds, including lap joints, tee joints, and butt joints with consistent quality., • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings for fabrication and assembly work., • Experience with assembly of metal components prior to welding, ensuring proper fit and alignment., • Skill in grinding, sanding, and deburring welded parts to achieve clean finishes and meet quality standards., • Commitment to following safety protocols and using appropriate PPE, including gloves, steel‑toe boots, eye protection, and ear protection as needed., • Ability to maintain a clean, organized individual workspace in a busy production environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working in a high‑volume manufacturing or fabrication facility., • Familiarity with ventilation systems and safe work practices in welding areas., • Interest in long‑term career growth from welder into lead and supervisory roles., • Willingness to work overtime when available and support production demands across different shifts.Why Work Here? Positions are available on first shift (7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) and second shift (3:30 p.m. to midnight). Each welder has an individual workspace, personal toolbox, and dedicated PPE, and is expected to keep the area clean and organized. Required attire and safety gear include gloves, steel‑toe boots, eye protection, and ear protection as needed, supporting a safe and professional welding environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Farmingdale, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
