Job Description Position Summary: The Account Manager – East Region is responsible for managing a portfolio of small to mid-tier client accounts, generating new business, and serving as a key liaison between clients and internal teams across Certified Group. This individual plays a critical role in qualifying leads, maintaining client satisfaction, and supporting revenue growth. The position requires strong relationship-building skills, business acumen, and an understanding of laboratory testing services for the food and beverage industry. Responsibilities: • Manage and grow assigned accounts, serving as the primary point of contact for clients in the East Region., • Qualify and assign inbound sales leads; identify and pursue new business opportunities., • Meet or exceed sales and profitability goals as defined by the sales leadership team., • Provide clients with technical and service-related information regarding laboratory testing, turnaround times, methods, pricing, and results., • Collaborate with marketing, client services, and laboratory teams to support client needs and ensure a high level of service delivery., • Develop and execute account plans to grow existing relationships and expand service offerings., • Handle service agreements, client onboarding, pricing negotiations, and contract renewals., • Accurately track activities and communications in Salesforce CRM., • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts., • Stay current on food safety regulations and industry trends (e.g., FSMA, FDA, USDA)., • Represent the company at client meetings, industry events, and regional tradeshows as needed., • Follow all company policies, procedures, and best practices., • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field required., • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in account management or sales role., • Proven experience using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce., • Prior experience in the laboratory services, food safety, or related industries. Skills & Abilities: • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills., • Strong organization, time management, and follow-up skills., • High attention to detail and accuracy., • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple accounts and initiatives simultaneously., • Strong customer orientation and a proven ability to foster long-term client relationships., • Ability to work independently in a remote or office setting., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
