Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 Benefits: 401K, Medical Insurance, Bonus Scheme Job Type: Direct Hire Location: Hawthorne NJ Job Start date: ASAP Shift Pattern: Days We’re supporting a leading food manufacturer in Hawthorne, New Jersey, in the search for a Quality Assurance Manager to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in food manufacturing quality assurance, including at least two years in a leadership role. Job Summary: As Quality Assurance Manager, you will lead all aspects of food safety, quality assurance, and hygiene within sausage manufacturing operations. You’ll ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as USDA, HACCP, GMP, and SQF, while driving continuous improvement and building a strong quality culture. Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain quality assurance and hygiene programs to ensure food safety and product quality, • Lead, train, and develop QA and hygiene teams, including performance management, • Ensure compliance with USDA, HACCP, GMP, SQF, and customer requirements, • Act as the main contact for quality and hygiene matters internally and externally, • Support audits and inspections from regulatory bodies and third parties, • Monitor production processes to ensure quality and hygiene standards are met, • Investigate quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions, • Lead root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions, • Maintain accurate quality and hygiene records, reporting on key metrics, • Collaborate with Operations, R&D, and Supply Chain teams, • Support new product development with quality and food safety standards, • Deliver training on food safety, quality, and hygiene practices, • Evaluate supplier quality and resolve raw material issues About You: • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or similar, • Minimum 5 years’ experience in food manufacturing QA, including 2+ years in management, • Experience in meat or sausage manufacturing preferred, • HACCP, SQF Practitioner, or equivalent certification highly desirable, • Strong knowledge of quality systems, statistical process control, and root cause analysis, • Comfortable with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and compliance tools such as Redzone, • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams, • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred, • High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
