Job DescriptionJob Title: 2nd Shift Spray Dry Compounder Job Description This role focuses on accurately preparing, mixing, and processing raw materials into finished products using spray dry, liquid, powder, and homogenizing methods on the 2nd shift. You ensure consistent product quality by following detailed batch instructions, conducting in-process checks, and strictly adhering to food safety, sanitation, and documentation standards in a team-oriented, cross-functional environment. Responsibilities • Retrieve and verify all required ingredients for each batch, ensuring accurate measurement using scales and other measuring equipment., • Measure, weigh, and mix various ingredients according to standard batch instructions, including dyes and other substances, to meet precise formulation requirements., • Identify ingredients that require dilution, dilute them appropriately, and record all raw material usage in accordance with established procedures., • Process liquid, powder, and homogenized products using spray dry and other compounding methods while following all standard operating procedures., • Use hot plates and other equipment to identify and melt solid ingredients as needed for specific formulations., • Check batch consistency throughout the process, including measuring viscosity and other characteristics to maintain product quality., • Collect batch samples and deliver them to the laboratory for testing, following all sampling and labeling protocols., • Maintain quality standards by verifying the weight and contents of raw materials and in-process batches, documenting all process events accurately and completely., • Conduct in-process batch inspections and record findings to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements., • Follow food safety guidelines at all times, including proper handling, storage, and documentation of raw materials and finished products., • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), including safety and sanitation protocols, to maintain a clean and compliant production environment., • Wear required uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently and correctly during all work activities., • Collaborate with team members in a cross-functional environment to support production goals and resolve issues that may arise during compounding., • Follow all company procedures and policies related to production, safety, sanitation, and documentation., • Communicate clearly with supervisors and colleagues regarding batch status, issues, and any deviations from standard processes.Essential Skills, • 6 months to 1 year of compounding experience working with powders and raw materials., • Experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment., • Demonstrated ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols consistently., • Experience handling raw materials, including measuring, mixing, and recording usage., • Ability to accurately measure ingredients using scales and follow detailed batch instructions., • Capability to process liquids, powders, and homogenized products using spray dry methods., • Skill in checking batch consistency and measuring viscosity using appropriate tools., • Ability to accurately document process events, batch inspections, and raw material usage., • Willingness and ability to wear a uniform and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)., • Open-minded approach to learning and adapting to changing processes and requirements., • Strong team player with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment., • Adaptable and flexible in a cross-functional production setting.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in food, flavor, or fragrance production environments., • Familiarity with food safety guidelines and related documentation practices., • Comfort working with hot plates and other production equipment for melting solids., • Strong attention to detail in measuring, mixing, and recording data., • Good communication skills for working within cross-functional teams., • Reliability in following established procedures, policies, and quality standards.Work Environment This position operates in a team-oriented, cross-functional production environment that follows strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety guidelines. You work on the 2nd shift from approximately 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., supporting consistent production operations. The role involves working with powders, liquids, and raw materials, using equipment such as scales, hot plates, and spray dry systems. The facility emphasizes safety, sanitation, and quality, requiring accurate documentation and adherence to established procedures. You must be willing to wear a uniform and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on the production floor. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Dayton, NJ.
