Job Description Banquet Chef Location: Fishkill, NY Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Banquet Chef to oversee all culinary operations related to banquet, catering, wedding, and special event services. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, safety, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities • Lead all banquet kitchen operations, including preparation, execution, and service of weddings, corporate functions, social events, and private gatherings., • Develop and execute banquet menus in collaboration with culinary leadership and event management teams., • Supervise, train, and mentor culinary staff to ensure consistent food quality and professional kitchen performance., • Coordinate production schedules and staffing levels based on event volume and guest counts., • Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to established recipes, specifications, and presentation standards., • Monitor food, labor, and inventory costs while maintaining profitability and minimizing waste., • Manage purchasing, receiving, and inventory control of food products and kitchen supplies., • Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal health, sanitation, and food safety regulations., • Work closely with front-of-house and event teams to ensure seamless execution of banquet services., • Oversee kitchen cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and overall organization of banquet production areas., • Assist with menu development, seasonal offerings, and special event culinary programming. Qualifications • Minimum 3–5 years of banquet, catering, or high-volume event culinary experience., • Previous leadership experience as a Banquet Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Sous Chef, or similar role., • Strong knowledge of large-scale food production, plating, and event execution., • Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously while maintaining exceptional quality standards., • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills., • Strong understanding of food cost controls, inventory management, and labor management., • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP procedures., • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays., • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred. Physical Requirements • Ability to stand for extended periods., • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds., • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and perform under pressure during high-volume events.
