Job Description The Human Resources Coordinator 15-20 hours weekly supports the daily operations of the Human Resources department and serves as a resource for employees and management. This position is responsible for assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, payroll/timekeeping, compliance, employee relations, and other HR functions. The HR Coordinator helps ensure a positive employee experience while maintaining accurate records and ensuring company policies and applicable employment regulations are followed. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Coordinate the new-hire onboarding process, including employment paperwork, background checks, I-9 documentation, orientation, and other pre-employment requirements. Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files and HR records. Assist with recruitment and hiring activities, including job postings, interview coordination, candidate communication, and new-hire processing. Partner with Talent Acquisition and department leadership to ensure a smooth transition from candidate acceptance through orientation and employment. Assist employees with questions regarding benefits, PTO, payroll, policies, and HR procedures. Support benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, and employee benefit changes. Assist with payroll and timekeeping, including reviewing timecards, employee changes, missed punches, and payroll-related corrections. Track required licenses, certifications, background checks, training, and other employment documentation. Coordinate and assist with new-hire orientation and employee training. Process employee status changes, including transfers, promotions, compensation changes, leaves of absence, and terminations. Assist HR leadership with employee relations matters, investigations, corrective actions, and documentation as appropriate. Monitor attendance and assist management with attendance-related documentation. Support employee engagement and retention initiatives. Prepare and maintain HR reports related to staffing, turnover, retention, attendance, onboarding, and other key HR metrics. Maintain confidentiality of employee and organizational information. Ensure HR practices are consistent with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local employment regulations. Perform additional HR and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Previous Human Resources, recruiting, administrative, or healthcare experience preferred. Knowledge of HR practices and employment regulations preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn HRIS, ATS, payroll, and other HR systems. Preferred Healthcare Qualifications Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, assisted living, or healthcare preferred. Experience with healthcare employee onboarding and credentialing is a plus. Familiarity with CNA and nursing licenses/certifications and healthcare background requirements preferred. Experience working with facility leadership, including Administrators and Directors of Nursing, is beneficial.
