Job Summary: The Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting healthcare providers and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in a clinical setting. This role involves both administrative and clinical duties, providing excellent patient care and maintaining an organized, efficient environment. Key Responsibilities: Administrative Duties: Schedule and confirm patient appointments. Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic medical records (EMR). Handle patient check-in and check-out procedures. Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries. Clinical Duties: Prepare patients for examinations, taking vital signs and medical histories. Assist healthcare providers during exams and minor procedures. Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers. Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment. Skills and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (required). Completion of a certified Medical Assistant program (preferred). Proficiency in EMR systems and basic office software. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Work Environment: Typically works in a clinical setting such as a doctor's office, hospital, or outpatient facility.
