Summary: New York Edge is seeking a professional and highly organized person to fill the role of School Nurse at our Wyandanch District (Long Island, NY) After School Program. In this part time role, you will provide health services for students when they are at school. You will treat injuries and mild to acute sicknesses, or support students with chronic illnesses. In addition, you’ll help with preventative care by educating students on how to avoid communicable diseases and having proper hygiene. Job Description: Portledge School is seeking an experienced and mission-aligned Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach to lead its Upper School lacrosse program. The coach will be responsible for developing a competitive, inclusive, and values-based team that reflects Portledge’s Mission and Pillars: Kindness, Purpose, Honor, and Respect. This role requires the ability to mentor student-athletes of varied skill levels, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and represent the school with integrity within the PSAA and NYSAIS leagues. Responsibilities and Duties: * Develop and implement a comprehensive training, development, and game strategy that supports student-athletes of diverse skill levels. * Create a positive, disciplined, and inclusive team culture aligned with Portledge's Mission, Pillars, and NYSAIS accreditation standards. * Plan and lead structured practices, team meetings, and competitive game preparation. * Provide meaningful mentorship to student-athletes, fostering growth both on and off the court. * Attract, identify, and evaluate prospective qualified student-athletes who are mission-aligned and may also be prospective students. * Communicate consistently with players, families, colleagues, and school leadership regarding expectations, schedules, and progress. * Collaborate with the Athletics Department to maintain equipment, uniforms, and scheduling. * Ensure compliance with all PSAA, NYSAIS, and NFHS regulations. * Travel with the team to away games and tournaments; attend all practices and team events. * Utilize game and practice film (e.g., Hudl) for performance analysis, reflection, and strategy development. Qualifications and Skills: * Previous lacrosse coaching experience, preferably at the Varsity level. * Strong understanding of lacrosse fundamentals and team-building strategies. * Ability to inspire and connect with student-athletes of varying skill levels. * Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. * High level of integrity and professionalism in representing the school and athletic program. * Bachelor’s degree preferred (in education, sports management, or a related field). * Availability for evening and weekend commitments, including travel for away games. * Experience with video analysis tools (e.g., Hudl) is a plus. * Commitment to upholding the values of an independent school community.
