WiseEnergy is a trusted and established solar asset manager, offering all the services clients require to manage and optimise large-scale solar plants, from development and construction through to long-term operational asset management. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, passionate finance professional to support the delivery of finance asset management services to one of our most important clients in multiple international jurisdictions. We are looking for someone who genuinely cares about the people they work with, naturally seeks to collaborate, and enjoys the buzz of good camaraderie. Although, as with all finance roles, you will need to have exceptional attention to detail, this role is not suitable for someone wanting to lock themselves away – you will need the right balance of introversion and extroversion to be comfortable in this role. In other words, you will be a key member of the team who can build and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The role is a mid-level role and will be expected to be part of the team to manage the finance operations for our assets in Iberia. You will also be expected to manage the finance operations for other regions as required either as a supporting role. Most of the assets we manage in Iberia are handled in-house. Accounting is performed internally, while taxes are outsourced, making it essential for this role to have a comprehensive understanding of both accounting and tax matters in the region. This role is then expected to support the provision of financial services from these markets. Reporting to the Finance Manager based in Madrid, the successful role holder will work with other accountants and professionals from other functions of the business. From time to time the successful candidate may be asked to perform tasks at the same level within our other range of funds/clients. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Working alongside finance and asset management professionals, this will be an integral role in the finance team: • OnboardingTake full ownership of the onboarding checklist, ensuring all information is accurately verified against the virtual data room., • Contribute to the preparation and delivery of the Onboarding Report for the Client., • Complete KYC documentation and manage all required administrative and finance-related applications., • Collaborate with the Finance Transformation Team to integrate financial data into NetSuite and other finance systems/tools., • Partner with the Senior Management Accountant to establish month-end schedules and standard reporting templates., • Prepare and record acquisition accounting journals in line with accounting standards. Reporting: Management Accounts & Bookkeeping • To review/support in the accounting prepared by the Assistant Accountant for the SPVs ensuring consistency and quality across entities., • Manage assigned internal and external financial deliverables for both the Group and lenders/investors, ensuring timely submission of financial statements and other agreed reports., • Act as the key liaison with external auditors, coordinating deliverables, resolving audit queries, and addressing accounting issues for both annual and interim audits., • Manage the invoice review and approval process in Yooz, and oversee payment workflows for SPVs and HoldCos., • Preparation and review of monthly cash flow forecasting, • Strong understanding of cash flow management, including forecasting, liquidity monitoring, and variance analysis., • Ability to prepare and interpret cash flow statements and support decision-making through accurate cash projections., • Working alongside the Debt Management Team to calculate and verify distributions., • Systems and Processes: Implement and maintain finance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)., • Support in the implementation of systems and processes (control processes)., • Ensure all documentation is stored in an orderly format in common share drive., • Tax: Work alongside the Senior Management Accountant to manage all local tax compliance matters by supporting the appointed tax advisors ensuring they are filed and paid before the due dates., • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with other Wise delivery functions – Technical, Commercial, Debt Management and Client Management., • Ad-hoc: Given the dynamic nature of our business in the early-stage sector we operate in, the successful candidate is seen picking up ad hoc tasks as part of the team’s agility to provide the best service to its range of clients. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: • Time management & prioritisation skills - things can get a little hectic, so the ability to effectively manage yourself and your workload is critical, • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (in English or/and other European languages) - you must be able to organize your thoughts in a way that others find clear and compelling. You will be expected to put together well-written, grammatically correct emails and other communications. When communicating verbally – whether over the phone, on video calls, in person or in meetings – you will need to be articulate, warm and engaging, • Flexibility - being an effective team player means being flexible in your approach and open to getting involved with new things, even if they are not spelt out in your job description, • Intellectual Curiosity – Finance is a broad and nuanced field and we are looking for someone who is truly interested in our profession and has the intellectual curiosity to delve deep into topics and bring fresh ideas to the team, • IT Literacy - you need to be comfortable with IT systems and working with data (you should have at least intermediate-level excel), • Delivery focus – it may sound obvious, but the ability to proactively churn through work at pace and deliver quality outputs really matters, • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, • Passion for our mission ‘to generate a more sustainable future by leading the transition to clean energy, • Our values: be a leader, build trust, be responsible, be innovative and ‘bring your alpha’. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS • Master Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field., • Strong knowledge of management accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close processes, including double-entry bookkeeping and core accounting principles., • Demonstrated expertise in budgeting and forecasting, including the preparation of budgets and in-depth analysis of variances to support informed decision-making., • 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management, ideally within an international or multi-entity environment., • Excel skills (at least intermediate-level), • Knowledge of NetSuite (advantageous), • A passion for process improvement and operational efficiency, • Renewable energy experience (advantageous), • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines., • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, • Experience in overseeing or collaborating with third party service providers on behalf of clients notably local accountants, auditors and tax advisors, • Superb presentation and conflict resolution skills, robust, resilient and articulate, • Fluent in Spanish with advanced business-level proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
