🆕The Medical Director leads Europ Assistance’s medical and operational functions, overseeing 24/7 global emergency medical support. They provide clinical leadership, manage multidisciplinary teams, review complex medical cases, and ensure high-quality care for domestic and international travelers. The role includes team management, strategic collaboration with global CMOs, industry relationship building, and oversight of external providers. As part of the Global Medical Team, the MD helps define worldwide medical standards, promotes inter‑regional cooperation, and supports the development of strong regional and global medical networks. 📌Key responsibilities Medical Case Management • Deliver advanced clinical support to the medical assistance team being on call and hold final authority over complex medical evacuations or repatriations., • Carry out case management activities in line with EA Travel Assistance protocols and in close collaboration with the Medical Platform Manager—including MEDCARE, Clinical Guidelines, Crisis Management, and any subsequent updates., • Mitigate medical risks related to logistical recommendations and ensure optimal patient transport arrangements., • Organize and facilitate regular meetings with local medical and operational teams to guarantee effective action, particularly regarding complex cases., • Oversee the medical escort team, guaranteeing compliance with EA Travel Assistance protocols and maintaining quality standards., • Lead local post-mortem reviews of critical cases as part of ongoing quality improvement initiatives., • Attend required meetings with the local management team as per organizational needs., • Contribute to medical audit programs as necessary., • Participate in client meetings and address escalated client inquiries to ensure a high level of satisfaction., • Offer medical expertise to strengthen Europ Assistance’s standing by assisting the Client Services and Sales Back-Office teams in preparing communications related to processes and organizational issues within the medical sector., • Liaise with clients' Operational and Medical teams on case-specific issues., • Prepare expert medical reports to assist in the assessment and defense of legal claims arising from disputes., • Oversee a team of physicians and registered nurses in their roles as medical coordinators and members of the transport team., • Management duties include, but are not limited to, recruitment, training, business continuity, and ensuring adherence to established processes and best practices., • Locally lead the implementation, development, and integration of the EA medical assistance culture, serving as a role model and consistently exemplifying the EA We Care culture and competencies in daily medical assistance operations., • Assist in training case managers or other EA collaborators in medical topics to boost operational efficiency and ensure clear communication with end customers. ✔️ Your profile • Degree in medicine and related qualifications /MD, with a minimum of 5 years’ of medical practice and medical assistance experience, with an active Spanish license., • Demonstrated success in establishing and driving service excellence., • Ability to think strategically forward in a 1-3 year time span and be proactive., • Ability to analyze metrics, identify opportunities, and translate metrics into actionable plans., • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization., • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead people, get results through others and provide coaching/constructive feedback., • Ability to engage and transfer knowledge to all parties in a manner that supports adult learning principles, a collegiate exchange of ideas and treats all participants with mutual respect, • An intuitive thinker – able to adapt and tailor communications to appropriate audiences., • Proven effective written communication skills, • Stress Tolerance: ability to cope with stress under pressure, manage stress positively, to use means to reduce stress at work, • Language required: Spanish and English fluent, any other language will be highly appreciated. 🏆What we offer • Starting date: ASAP., • Work in an international environment.
