Our diver technicians and service experts support customers 24/7 by delivering underwater repairs, maintenance and inspections that minimise downtime and prevent costly dry‑docking. /p h3Role Overview /h3 pThe Manager, Sales – Wärtsilä Underwater Services is responsible for leading the global sales organisation and driving commercial performance across all relevant markets and customer segments. The role sets and executes the global sales strategy, leads and develops the sales team, strengthens strategic customer relationships, and ensures delivery of order intake, net sales, margin and other key commercial targets. /p pAs a member of the Wärtsilä Underwater Services Management Team, the Manager, Sales actively contributes to defining the business strategy, identifying growth opportunities and shaping the future direction of the organisation. The role serves as the commercial voice within the leadership team, ensuring that customer insights, market developments and competitive dynamics are translated into strategic actions and sustainable business growth. /p pThis is a permanent position, preferably located in Central Europe, with the Netherlands and Spain being preferred locations. Alternative locations may be considered for the right candidate. The role involves regular international travel and close collaboration with teams, customers and stakeholders across multiple locations. Hybrid working arrangements are available depending on location. /p pThis role is critical to closing the gap between existing market demand and realised order intake by strengthening commercial ownership, follow‑up discipline and consultative customer engagement within the underwater services and technical solutions business. /p h3Your Main Responsibilities Are /h3 ul liManage sales team in the assigned geographical region / customer segment / defined responsibility area to meet strategic goals. /li liManage, monitor and develop the sales projects in own responsibility area and report the progress to relevant stakeholders. /li liDeliver Net Sales, Margin, Order Intake and other relevant metrics. /li liManage customer relationships. /li liMaintain and further develop present assigned customer relationships. /li liIdentify and develop relationships with potential customers. /li liOrganise and participate in relevant sales meetings with customers. /li liResponsible for forecasting sales volumes and costs in defined responsibility area. /li liIdentify, report and manage potential risks detected in the assigned projects. /li liMarket Awareness: stay updated with market developments and industry standards. /li liEnsure alignment of Sales Process with UWS Business Strategy and relevant Department objectives. /li liProactively work to enable cross‑organizational cooperation. /li liEnsure that the sales offering is according to UWS Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines and customer site procedures. /li liDefine action plans for assigned sales team according to sales business strategy and objectives. /li liReview performance of own sales team. /li liBuild and manage sales team. /li /ul h3Main Requirements for this Role (You will shine when) /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Marine, or a related field. /li liMinimum 10 years of commercial experience, including senior sales leadership roles and proven people management responsibility. /li liStrong track record in delivering sales growth, order intake, net sales and margin targets in an international business environment. /li liExperience in global sales, business development, strategic account management and customer relationship leadership is required. /li liStrong commercial acumen, negotiation skills and ability to lead in a multicultural matrix organisation are essential. /li liExperience in the marine, offshore, technical service or industrial sector is preferred. /li liFluency in English is required; additional languages are an advantage. /li /ul h3In addition, as an ideal candidate you /h3 ul liDrive “The Wärtsilä Way” and demonstrate Wärtsilä values. /li liExperience working in cross‑border / regional setups. /li liCan collaborate internally and align approach with supporting functions. /li liAre extremely well organised and methodical. /li liCan demonstrate a goal‑oriented mindset. /li liDrive results with excellent planning and clear understanding with use of CRM tools and associated measurement tools. /li liDemonstrate achieving results, making change happen, decisiveness and action orientation, planning and target setting, developing self and others, communication, situational and cultural sensitivity, and business, customer and supplier focus. /li /ul h3Why you and us /h3 pAt Wärtsilä, we believe in empowerment, ownership, and taking responsibility for our work.
