As a Sr. Community Support Companion, you will have more than just a job - you will have the opportunity to directly impact someone’s life for the better! You will work with individuals in their own homes and surrounding communities. As a Sr. Community Support Companion, you will hire, train and supervise employees who teach and assist clients in building skills necessary to live independently in their own homes. You will oversee Supported Living Services that are provided in the individual's home and in varied community settings in San Fernando Valley. /p pbWhat is Supported Living? /b /p ul liSupported Living Services allow individuals with developmental disabilities to live in their own homes in the community, while developing independent living skills, creating meaningful relationships, and participating as active members in their families and community /li /ul h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liYour daily routine can include:ul liFacilitating meaningful community connections /li liEstablishing friendships /li liExploring and participating in a variety of recreational and educational activities /li liTeaching independent life skills /li liIncreasing helpful, adaptive behaviors /li liParticipate in client team meetings as requested by Management /li liFacilitate and/or carry out quality reviews to ensure the individual is receiving the support he/she requires /li liAssist in coordination and arrangement of client support schedules /liliScheduled to be on-call for after hour emergencies /li liSpend no more than 20% of their working time in carrying out the following duties:ul liAssist management in the development of the individual's Individual Support Plan, and may attend meetings related to the plan. /li liParticipate in assisting the new individual set-up his or her apartment and the services to be provided /li liProvide substitute coverage when a Companion is absent as directed by Management /li liProvide hands-on training to Companions working with new individuals /li liParticipate in compiling client data and writing reports as directed by Management /li /ul /li liHaving fun! /li /ul /li libOther duties /bul liPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee for this job. Successful candidates will demonstrate honesty and respect while maintaining a positive, professional work ethic. Must have a prominent level of accountability and dependability.
