Some roles sit on one side of delivery. This one does not. We are looking for an Intent Engineer to join NTT DATA in Barcelona and help shape a new way of turning business needs into AI-ready inputs, validated outputs, and specifications that actually work in delivery. This is a techno-functional role for someone who is comfortable moving between business language, structured methodologies, and AI-assisted requirement engineering. You will work at the point where ambiguity becomes clarity: understanding what the business really needs, translating that intent into formats AI can work with, challenging outputs against expectations, and refining the result with subject matter experts and stakeholders until it is usable, robust, and aligned with the real need. At NTT DATA, you will do this in an environment where technology matters, but so does how people work together. We combine the scale of a global company with the closeness of teams where ideas move fast, expertise is valued, and growth is built through real project exposure. We are a global team of more than 139,000 professionals across more than 50 countries, working across sectors including telecommunications, financial services, industry, utilities, energy, public administration and healthcare. Our focus is to create business and technology solutions that respond to real client needs through collaboration, innovation and strong human quality. What makes this opportunity different This is not a traditional Business Analyst role, and it is not a purely technical AI position either. It is a role for someone who can: understand business intent with depth, translate it into structured AI-consumable inputs, validate generated outputs critically, and connect business expectations with technology execution in a meaningful way. In other words, you will help make AI useful where it often fails: in the quality of the input, the interpretation of the requirement, and the validation of the result. Your mission You will act as the bridge between business and technology, ensuring that generated specifications, requirements, and outputs are consistent with business goals and usable in real delivery contexts. Your day-to-day Translate business intent into structured, AI-consumable inputs. Validate AI-generated outputs against business expectations and functional needs. Work closely with SMEs, business stakeholders, and delivery teams to refine requirements and close ambiguity gaps. Apply BPM methodologies and frameworks such as BMAT in requirement analysis and validation. Drive structured validation approaches in AI-assisted requirement engineering scenarios. Perform gap analysis between business needs, generated outputs, and target specifications. Support the creation of reliable functional artefacts that can be taken forward by delivery teams. Ensure alignment between business priorities, generated specifications, and implementation reality. What we are looking for Around 4 years of experience in a techno-functional, business analysis, functional consulting, or requirements engineering role. Experience acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams. Strong understanding of BPM methodologies and frameworks, ideally including BMAT. Proven ability to validate requirements in a structured way, not just document them. Comfortable working in AI-assisted requirement engineering environments. Experience with gap analysis approaches as an alternative to traditional requirement creation. Strong communication skills with both business and technical audiences. Ability to challenge outputs, ask better questions, and improve the quality of what goes into and comes out of AI-supported processes. Experience in insurance or highly regulated business environments will be especially valuable. Professional level of English. What you will find at NTT DATA At NTT DATA, growth is not something we talk about in abstract terms. It comes from working on relevant transformation challenges, learning from diverse teams, and having the space to build your own path. Our talent approach is built around three ideas: belonging, developing, and innovating while you grow. We create environments where people feel part of something meaningful, keep learning continuously, and work on end-to-end solutions in an AI-first context. You will join a company where: every voice is expected to add value, collaboration is part of how work gets done, innovation is practical, not decorative, and professional growth is tied to real responsibility and real impact. Benefits As part of the Spain collective, you will have access to benefits designed around wellbeing, flexibility, savings, and community, including: hybrid and flexible working model, Flex remote-work support, flexible compensation options, nursery vouchers through flexible compensation, training support, corporate private health insurance for you, with strong coverage for eligible beneficiaries, life and accident insurance, mental health support programs, sports activities, discounts portal and additional banking and insurance advantages. Why this role, why now AI is changing how requirements are shaped, but strong outcomes still depend on people who know how to interpret, validate, and challenge. That is why this role matters. You will help move from generic generation to business-ready output. From prompt to precision. From possibility to delivery. If you are looking for a role where you can combine business understanding, structured methodology, AI-assisted ways of working, and a real sector context like insurance, this is a strong place to keep growing. Make this the place where you grow.
