Asset Manager (Energy Infrastructure) - Madrid, On-Site An established infrastructure and real estate operator within the data center sector is seeking an Asset Manager to oversee the lifecycle management, resilience, and operational performance of critical electrical infrastructure across multiple data center environments in Spain. This position will play a key role in defining asset management strategies for medium and high-voltage electrical systems supporting mission-critical facilities, ensuring maximum availability, operational efficiency, and long-term reliability across the portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, operations, construction, and external contractor teams to optimise infrastructure performance, standardise technical assets, improve resilience, and support the delivery of future growth projects. Send your CV to ben.anderson@hamilton-barnes.com Responsibilities: • Oversee asset management activities relating to HV lines, substations, transformers, MV/HV distribution systems, UPS/SAI systems, generators, and associated electrical equipment, • Develop and optimise preventative and predictive maintenance plans across critical electrical assets, • Develop technical standards and equipment normalisation strategies to optimise critical spare management and improve interchangeability between sites, • Review and analyse electrical engineering designs produced by external consultants and suppliers, identifying opportunities to improve resilience, redundancy, and operational continuity, • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations relating to major incidents, failures, and operational disruptions, implementing corrective and preventative actions, • Manage incident and change management processes across operational infrastructure environments, • Define and monitor SLAs and KPIs associated with external maintenance providers, ensuring service quality and operational performance targets are achieved, • Conduct on-site technical supervision and quality control of preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities performed by third-party contractors, • Support and manage the construction, commissioning, and delivery of new electrical infrastructure projects within live critical environments, • Coordinate technical negotiations, contractor management, and supplier homologation activities with OEMs, construction companies, and specialist electrical contractors, • Work closely with multidisciplinary internal teams to ensure operational excellence, risk mitigation, and successful infrastructure delivery Required Skills: • Strong technical understanding of HV infrastructure, substations, and mission-critical electrical systems, • Extensive experience in electrical asset management and maintenance strategy development, • Strong understanding of incident management, change management, and operational risk mitigation, • Ability to make technical decisions within high-availability operational environments, • Experience managing contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project stakeholders, • Strong negotiation, contract management, and conflict resolution skills, • Analytical and structured approach to problem-solving and incident management, • Strong organisational and project coordination capabilities, • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills, • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, • Additional qualifications or exposure to Asset Management methodologies such as ISO 55001 would be advantageous, • 5–10+ years of experience within engineering, maintenance, asset management, or operational infrastructure environments, • Strong project delivery experience across electrical infrastructure or critical environments, • Previous experience working within large energy companies, utilities, engineering consultancies, data centers, substations, or other mission-critical environments, • Strong understanding of electrical OEMs, contractors, and infrastructure supply chains, • Experience managing critical infrastructure projects and operational environments, • Fluent English & Spanish
