LOTO Lead / Coordinator – Commissioning (Copper Smelter Project) Location: Huelva, Andalusia, Spain Contract Type: Contract role Language Requirement: Communicative Spanish (spoken) We are supporting a major industrial commissioning project in Huelva, South Spain , and are seeking an experienced LOTO Lead / Coordinator to join the site commissioning team. This role is critical to the safe execution of first energisation and commissioning activities on a large-scale copper smelter project. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and manage Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedures for all commissioning activities. Ensure full compliance with site safety standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate and approve isolation plans for electrical, mechanical, piping, and instrumentation systems . Supervise LOTO execution during first energisation and subsequent commissioning phases. Lead, train, and guide commissioning and contractor teams on LOTO best practices. Maintain LOTO registers, logs, permits, and documentation. Act as the primary LOTO authority on site during commissioning and handover phases. Coordinate closely with commissioning, construction, and operations teams to ensure safe system handovers. Requirements Proven experience as a LOTO Lead / Coordinator on heavy industrial projects (smelters, refineries, power plants, or similar process plants preferred). Hands-on experience with first energisation during commissioning. Strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical isolation procedures . Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams in a safety-critical environment. Communicative Spanish (spoken) required. EU passport or current right to work in Spain is essential.
