Due to our constant growth, we are looking for a Construction Manager to support our pharmaceutical projects in Evreux, France. The Construction Manager is responsible for ensuring that construction activities are planned, executed, and delivered safely and efficiently on pharmaceutical projects. This role provides technical and managerial oversight to protect people, the environment, and assets throughout all project phases — from design through commissioning and handover. Acting on behalf of the client, the Construction Manager ensures full compliance with local regulations, internal EHS requirements, and Engineering Standards, while proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating construction-related risks. You will be responsible for • Planning, managing, monitoring, and resourcing the construction phase, ensuring effective risk management at all times, • Ensuring all contractors receive the necessary information to carry out their work safely and without risk to health, • Managing site teams and subcontractors during construction activities, • Liaising with the design team to manage and reduce risks arising from design changes or constraints, • Preparing, implementing, and maintaining the Construction Safety Plan (CSP), • Ensuring that risk assessments are completed for all construction activities, • Ensuring method statements are in place for all tasks and clearly understood by workers, • Implementing and maintaining a Permit to Work (PTW) system in accordance with the CSP, • Ensuring adequate equipment, plant, tools, and suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) are available and used correctly, • Verifying that construction work is carried out in accordance with approved safe systems of work (Risk Assessments, Method Statements, PTW, Last Minute Risk Assessments), • Actively managing and promoting participation in Safety Observation Reporting (SOR), • Ensuring adequate welfare facilities are provided, cleaned, and properly maintained, • Implementing a planned schedule of safety audits and task observations, • Ensuring an effective emergency response plan is in place and communicated to all relevant parties About you Educational Background • Minimum Education Level: High School, • Area of Specialisation: Engineering or technical discipline, • Reason Required: To ensure a solid technical foundation for managing construction activities and understanding engineering and safety requirements, • Preferred Education Level: Technical diploma or degree in Engineering or Construction Management, • Reason Preferred: Provides enhanced capability in managing complex construction environments, safety systems, and regulatory compliance Job-Related Experience • Minimum Experience Required:, • At least 5 years of experience in a Construction Manager or similar site-based role, • Proven experience with demolition activities and asbestos removal in complex building environments, • Overall Experience:, • Minimum of 15 years of experience working on construction sites within project environments, preferably in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, • Reason Required:, • To ensure a high level of competence in managing construction safety, coordinating multiple contractors, and operating effectively in high-risk, highly regulated project settings Next Steps Upon receiving your application, if a match is found, the Recruiting department will contact you for an initial HR interview.
