Job description As part of a critical phase of industrial transformation, we are seeking, on behalf of our client—a major industrial player in the chemical sector—and for an interim assignment of at least 6 months, a Plant Manager to take responsibility for a Seveso high-threshold chemical site engaged in a redundancy plan (PSE), site-securing operations, decontamination, and the partial or total dismantling of facilities. Key responsibilities Overall site management: Reporting to General Management or the Crisis Committee, the Interim Plant Director will be responsible for: • Providing operational and people leadership for the site in a context of extreme transition,, • Acting as the guarantor of the safety of people, facilities, and the environment,, • Managing relations with the DREAL, prefectural authorities, and regulatory bodies,, • Supporting the implementation of the redundancy plan in coordination with HR and employee representatives,, • Maintaining structured, firm, and respectful social dialogue,, • Leading or coordinating soil, water, and facility decontamination projects,, • Supervising contractors for dismantling, asbestos removal, and decontamination,, • Providing regular and transparent reporting to senior management and shareholders,, • Participating in crisis units and strategic committees. Profile sought: • Engineer or senior executive with significant experience in the chemical, process, or heavy industry sectors,, • Proven experience managing a Seveso high-threshold site,, • Strong track record in crisis management, site closure, redundancy plans, or industrial restructuring,, • Strong HSE expertise, knowledge of ICPE regulations, and major risk management,, • Recognized leadership, natural authority, composure, and ability to make decisions under uncertainty,, • Excellent interpersonal and political skills,, • Fluent French required.
