Senior Womenswear Garment Technologist – Tailoring Our client is a highly respected international apparel supplier, renowned for delivering premium womenswear to some of the UK's leading retailers and brands. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an exceptional Senior Womenswear Garment Technologist with specialist expertise in tailoring to join their London-based team . This is a pivotal role for a confident and commercially minded technical professional who can take ownership of key tailoring accounts, influence product development from concept through to production, and act as a trusted technical partner to both customers and manufacturing team s. Working closely with an established factory base in Bangladesh, you will play a critical role in driving fit, quality, construction, and technical excellence across tailored womenswear collectio ns. The Opportu nityThis position requires far more than managing the technical process. We are looking for someone who can bring genuine tailoring expertise to the business, challenge constructively, provide solutions, and add value throughout the product lifecy cle.You will be the technical lead across key customer accounts, building strong relationships with buyers, designers, product developers, and factory teams to ensure products are delivered to the highest standards of fit, quality, and performa nce. Key Responsibil • itiesTake ownership of the technical development of tailored womenswear collections from initial development through to produc, • tion.Manage and build strong relationships with designated customer accounts, acting as the key technical con, • tact.Lead fit sessions, evaluate samples, and provide clear technical direction to customers and facto, • ries.Drive fit consistency, garment performance, and quality standards across all product categories within tailo, • ring.Work closely with Bangladesh-based manufacturing teams to ensure technical requirements are understood and executed accura, • tely.Review garment construction, sewing methods, pattern development, and manufacturing techniques to achieve the best commercial and quality outc, • omes.Create, maintain, and manage detailed technical specifications, measurement charts, and product documenta, • tion.Oversee sample development through the critical path, ensuring deadlines and approval dates are achi, • eved.Review lab reports, test results, risk assessments, and quality documenta, • tion.Identify and resolve technical and production challenges proactively, providing practical solutions throughout the development pro, • cess.Collaborate closely with design, product development, merchandising, and sourcing teams to support successful product deli, • very.Support customer meetings, technical presentations, factory visits, and quality reviews as requ ired. Abo • ut YouExtensive experience as a Garment Technologist within womenswear, ideally gained within a supplier enviro, • nment.Demonstrable specialist expertise in womenswear tailoring is esse, • ntial.Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, fit, pattern interpretation, manufacturing methods, and fabric perfor, • mance.Experience managing customer accounts and building credible relationships with retail par, • tners.Confident working directly with offshore factories, particularly within Bangladesh manufacturing opera, • tions.Commercially aware, solutions-focused, and capable of influencing decision-making across multiple stakeho, • lders.Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced enviro, • nment.Strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge, advise, and guide both customers and factories when req, • uired.A proactive individual who brings ideas, expertise, and technical leadership to the team.
