Position Title: Gas Engineer Location: London Job Type: Full-Time Overview: We are seeking a skilled and certified Gas Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas appliances and systems in residential settings. You will ensure that gas systems are safe, efficient, and compliant with all relevant regulations. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to excellent customer service. This role does not require working from an office. The applicant can work remotely and will only need to attend on-site locations when tasks are assigned. Key Responsibilities: - Installation and Maintenance: Install, service, and repair gas systems, appliances, and fixtures, including boilers, heating systems, gas appliances - Safety Inspections: Conduct routine safety inspections on gas appliances and systems to ensure they comply with industry safety standards and regulations. - Fault Diagnosis: Troubleshoot and diagnose faults or malfunctions in gas systems and appliances and provide efficient repair solutions. - Compliance: Ensure all work complies with current gas safety regulations and company policies. - Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service, troubleshooting issues and making sure that they are solved safely and effectively. - Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including inspection reports, service records, and any necessary paperwork related to regulatory compliance. - Emergency Repairs: Respond to emergency gas-related issues promptly and efficiently, ensuring the safety and satisfaction of the client. - Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, contractors, and professionals on-site to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard. Qualifications: - Certification: Must be Gas Safe registered - Experience: Previous experience as a gas engineer, ideally with exposure to residential systems - Technical Skills: Strong understanding of gas systems, appliances, and relevant safety regulations. - Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and repair faults efficiently. - Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical clients. - Driving License: A valid driving license is required as travel to various sites may be necessary. - Good to have: - Experience in plumbing - Experience working in a customer-facing role. - Experience with renewable energy systems (such as heat pumps or solar thermal systems) is a plus. Job description Multi Skilled Engineer Job Description is as follows: Provide and maintain a high level of building maintenance support to our client’s sites. Form part of a team of facilities management support staff, ensuring that the service provided meets the contractual requirements and complies with all current regulations. Ensure all assets are always maintained and in a compliant condition. Ensure the buildings remain in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Main Duties Ensure that the day-to-day planned preventative maintenance activities of building maintenance is completed in line with our contractual obligations Ensure all assets are maintained in accordance with the O&M Manuals and Industry standard requirements. Assist in supervising contractors and sub-contractors and ensure compliance with all statutory obligations Ensure that all reactive calls are closed out in line with our contractual time scales Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety legislation and Company policy. (Fire regulations, COSHH, Safe working practices, PPE, PAT testing etc) Ensure all building fabric elements are functional and operational within design parameters and carry out reactive repairs within agreed response and rectification times Keep all plant/rooms / services enclosures clean, tidy safe and secure Assist other engineers / staff with their duties as required Undertake any ad-hoc duties that may be necessary during the course of your working shift Be on-call as required What we are looking for Time served apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ qualification in HVAC. Minimum 5 years of providing service and maintenance on HVAC systems in a commercial environment. NVQ or City & Guilds in the following: Electrical Engineer or equivalent 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations (BS7671) City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection Ability to undertake all facets of maintenance and installation requirements as required within the scope of the contract. Ability to effectively prioritise own workload. Flexibility and adaptability to change / flexible approach to work and working hours Pro-active and positive approach to work. Join our growing maintenance team now! We run a dynamic and busy maintenance operation, completing a wide range of works including plumbing, electrical and handyman. We are looking for single trade or multi skilled staff to join our team. This is a permanent employed position and you will receive holiday allowance, uniform and training. You will also be given an Oyster Card for work journeys. Shift times are flexible but our teams generally work 6am to 3pm, 7am to 4pm or 8am to 5pm or 9am to 6pm. Overtime is often available. Please note that we pay MONTHLY and all staff must be able to prove valid UK right to work eligibility. The pay rate is dependant on experience, qualifications and relevant skills.
