We are looking for a Second Chef/ Sous Chef to join our busy Pho restaurant in Reading. Our kitchen has a wonderful team of chefs who work very hard and are great at what they do, so it’s important we find the right Second Chef who is going to be supportive, friendly and hands-on, always ready to help in the different sections of the kitchen. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Sous Chef to support in the daily operation of the kitchen. The Sous Chef will play a key leadership role, overseeing food preparation and service, maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and presentation, and ensuring all health and safety regulations are met. This position involves supervising and training kitchen staff, managing stock and ordering, minimizing waste, and assisting with menu development. The Sous Chef will lead the kitchen sometimes solely by themselves and contribute to a positive, professional, and efficient kitchen environment. Will be working in a small efficient kitchen that provides traditional British/Irish dishes. Hours between 20-25 a week that will have to work mostly evenings (kitchen finish taking orders 9pm) and weekends.
