MOT Tester / Mechanic – Plymouth
We’re a busy, independent garage in Plymouth looking for a qualified MOT Tester who is also hands-on with mechanical work.
This role suits someone who wants a mix of MOT testing and real mechanical jobs, in a workshop that values efficiency, quality, and common sense — not pressure or shortcuts.
The role
Carrying out Class 4 MOT tests in line with DVSA standards
General mechanical work including:
Servicing
Brakes & suspension
Clutches, timing belts (experience dependent)
Diagnostics & fault finding
Accurate reporting of MOT defects
Keeping the MOT bay and workshop compliant and organised
What we’re looking for
Valid DVSA MOT Tester licence (essential)
Strong hands-on mechanical experience
Reliable, punctual, and professional
Good work ethic and pride in quality workmanship
