Deputy Engineering Manager (PSV) £67,257 Shift Allowance Any 5 Days from 7 (Shift-Based) Location: London This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineering Supervisor, Workshop Manager, Fleet Engineer, Assistant Engineering Manager, or Deputy Engineering Manager looking to progress their career within a large and modern PSV operation. The Role Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of a busy engineering department responsible for maintaining a modern fleet of buses, including the latest electric vehicle technology. Key responsibilities include: • Supporting the Engineering Manager in leading the engineering function, • Ensuring maximum fleet availability and vehicle reliability, • Maintaining compliance with DVSA, operator, and industry standards, • Promoting a strong Health & Safety culture across the workshop, • Managing employee wellbeing and fatigue management processes, • Supervising engineering teams and supporting their development, • Assisting with maintenance planning and operational performance, • Driving continuous improvement across workshop operations Requirements • Previous supervisory or management experience within a commercial vehicle, HGV, PSV, bus, coach, or fleet maintenance environment, • Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and mechanical engineering, • Knowledge of electrical systems and vehicle bodywork repairs, • Experience managing workshop teams and operational performance, • Excellent planning, organisational, and decision-making skills, • Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation, • Ability to obtain a Transport Manager CPC if required PSV experience is highly desirable, although candidates from HGV, commercial vehicle, fleet, plant, or similar heavy vehicle backgrounds will also be considered.
