Job Title: Mobile Tyre Fitter / Mobile Tyre Technician

Reporting To Depot / Operations Manager
Employment Type: Full-time, Temporary
Job Purpose
The Mobile Tyre Fitter delivers high-quality tyre replacement, repair, and roadside assistance services directly to customers at their homes, workplaces, or stranded roadside locations. Operating from a fully equipped mobile service van, you will act as the face of the company, ensuring a safe, efficient, and professional experience for every customer.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Remove, fit, repair, and balance tyres on cars, vans, and light commercial vehicles.
Conduct accurate tyre safety inspections, checking tread depth, wear patterns, and inflation pressures.
Assess tyre damage to determine if a safe repair is possible under national safety standards or if a replacement is required.
Ensure all locking wheel nuts and vehicle components are handled safely and re-torqued to manufacturer specifications.
Drive and maintain a company-allocated mobile service vehicle in compliance with road safety laws.
Conduct daily pre-journey van inspections (fluid levels, lights, tyre condition).
Keep the mobile unit clean, organized, and stocked with adequate tyre inventory and consumables.
Maintain all onboard specialist tools, including jacks, air compressors, and portable balancing machines.
Travel efficiently to scheduled and emergency call-out appointments within your designated area.
Provide professional advice to customers regarding tyre maintenance, safety standards, and legal requirements.
Process payments on-site and accurately complete digital job sheets, risk assessments, and invoices via a company mobile device.
Strictly adhere to health and safety regulations, particularly when working at the roadside or in public spaces.
Correctly deploy safety equipment, including high-visibility clothing, cones, and beacons.
Safely dispose of worn or damaged tyres in accordance with environmental policies.
Requirements, Qualifications & Experience
Experience: Minimum of 1 - 3 years of tyre-fitting experience (experience operating a mobile service van is highly desirable but not mandatory).
Licence: A valid, clean UK driving licence is required.
Physical Fitness: Capability to meet the physical demands of the role, including regular lifting of tyres and heavy equipment.
Technical Skills: Confident operating wheel balancers, tyre changers, and electronic diagnostic or tracking tools.
Soft Skills: Strong time-management skills, a polite customer-facing manner, and the ability to work independently without direct supervision.
Working Conditions & Benefits
Hours: Standard shift patterns, which may include rotational weekends and participation in an on-call emergency rota.
Environment: Primarily outdoor field work in varying weather conditions.
