Job Specification – Chemical FLT Operative Hours: Day Shift, 8:00am – 5:00pm Contract: Temp to Perm Great opportunity for long-term development within a growing business Role Overview We are currently recruiting for an experienced Chemical FLT Counterbalance Operator to join a well-established manufacturing company. This role involves mixing, batching, handling chemicals, and filling IBCs while ensuring strict adherence to safety, quality, and production standards. This is a fantastic temp–to–perm opportunity for someone looking for stability and long-term progression. Key Responsibilities Chemical Processing & Production * Expereinced Counterbalance driver * Accurately weigh, measure, mix, and batch chemical products following detailed production instructions. * Operate mixing vessels, blending machines, pumps, and automated/semiautomated filling equipment. * Fill containers including IBCs, drums, and smaller packaging formats to required specifications. * Monitor temperatures, pressures, and process parameters to ensure safe, efficient production. * Complete regular process checks, quality checks, and documentation. Safety & Compliance Handle chemicals safely in accordance with COSHH, PPE requirements, and site safety rules. Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure safe use of equipment. Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free working area. Report any issues, deviations, or safety concerns immediately. Warehouse & Material Handling Move raw materials, containers, and finished goods safely within the production and storage areas. Assist with loading/unloading deliveries when required. Use FLT (Counterbalance preferred) if licensed – advantageous but not essential. Complete stock rotation, labelling, and chemical traceability logs. General Production Support * Assist with equipment cleaning, wash-downs, and changeovers. * Work closely with supervisors and quality teams to maintain high standards. * Meet daily production targets while maintaining accuracy and safety. Skills & Experience Required Previous experience in chemical manufacturing, mixing/batching, liquid blending, or similar industrial environment. Knowledge of COSHH, chemical handling, or hazardous materials (advantageous). Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions. Physically fit — comfortable with manual handling and active production duties. FLT licence Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
