We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our close-knit maintenance team. A standby allowance is paid for participation in the 1 in 6 rota. \n \n The Role \n As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation, and continuous improvement of plant equipment across our mineral processing operation. \n Typical duties will include: \n\n • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance activities\n, • Responding to and repairing plant breakdowns safely and efficiently\n, • Diagnosing and fault finding mechanical issues\n, • Conducting inspections and reporting equipment condition\n, • Supporting continuous improvement activities\n, • Performing fabrication and repair work as required\n, • Working safely in accordance with site procedures and risk assessments\n, • Participating in confined space activities following appropriate training\n, • Supporting plant shutdowns and maintenance projects\n, • Maintaining effective communication with operations and engineering colleagues\n\n \n Plant & Equipment \n You will gain experience working on a wide range of industrial process equipment, including: \n\n • Crushers\n, • Screens\n, • Conveyors\n, • Bucket elevators\n, • Screw conveyors\n, • Gearboxes\n, • Rotary valves\n, • Pneumatic conveying systems\n, • Hydraulic systems\n, • Pneumatic systems\n, • Bagging and packing equipment\n\n \n About You \n We are looking for a motivated and safety-conscious mechanical professional who enjoys working in a hands-on industrial environment. \n \n Essential \n\n • Proven industrial mechanical maintenance experience\n, • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills\n, • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings\n, • Good communication and teamwork skills\n, • A proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement\n\n \n Desirable \n\n • Time-served mechanical apprenticeship\n, • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification\n, • Experience within quarrying, mineral processing, aggregates, cement, recycling, chemicals, heavy manufacturing, power generation, mining, or similar process industries\n, • Welding and fabrication experience\n\n \n Why Join Omya? \n At our Dowlow site you'll become part of a highly experienced team supporting a modern mineral processing operation.
