You'll provide both tactical and strategic support, ensuring short-term delivery while contributing to longer term business success.You'll sit at the intersection of engineering, production, quality, and suppliers, taking ownership of investigations, driving root cause resolution, and ensuring robust, manufacturable engineering solutions.What You'll Be DoingTechnical Leadership & CollaborationRepresent Engineering at Level 1 & 2 QRQC meetings, providing clear technical direction and confident decision makingWork closely with OE and MRO teams to deliver high quality engineering solutions and supporting documentationAct as a senior engineering point of contact across production, suppliers, assembly, and test teamsProduction & Through Life SupportSupport production teams to meet demanding build schedules by resolving engineering issues quickly and effectivelyLead engineering investigations, delivering clear, concise analyses and robust corrective actionsDemonstrate persistence and technical depth when tackling complex, high pressure engineering challengesDesign, Validation & OptimisationTranslate customer and internal requirements into robust mechanical designsApply calculations, analysis, and validation tools to verify and refine solutionsEnsure designs are optimised for manufacture, assembly, cost, and qualityContinuous Improvement & GovernanceLead detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities and drive corrective actionsPromote a culture of continuous improvement, both technically and behaviourallyAuthor, review, and approve engineering documentation throughout the through life support phaseContribute to and report against engineering KPIs and budget targetsWhat We're Looking For.Essential Experience & SkillsDegree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)Strong background designing complex electromechanical products within highly regulated industries (e.g. aerospace)Proven ability to analyse complex problems and deliver practical, high quality engineering solutionsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levelsDeep understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and production methodsExperience leading investigations, RCA, and design assurance activitiesHighly DesirableExperience with rotating machinery, including motors and generatorsBackground across R&T, R&D, and NPI environmentsStrong CAD/PLM capability (NX, CATIA, Teamcenter, Windchill)Ability to interpret and challenge technical analyses (FEA, thermal, bearings, hand calculations)Why This Contract?12 month Inside IR35 engagement with a strong technical challengeHigh visibility role with genuine influence on engineering outcomesOpportunity to work within an advanced aerospace environmentIdeal for contractors open to relocating to Pitstone for a rewarding, hands on assignmentThis vacancy is being advertised by BelcanTPBN1_UKTJ
