Electrical Engineer Location: UK (Lincoln area) Salary: Competitive, depending on experience Working hours: Manufacturing Day Shift (35.5 hours pw) About the Role Our client is a global engineering leader in semiconductor manufacturing. They are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to take ownership of electrical compliance and engineering activities across their site. This role is critical in ensuring all electrical systems are safe, compliant, and fit for current and future operational needs. You will provide technical leadership, manage compliance programs, supervise contractors, and lead electrical projects and improvements across the site. Key Responsibilities • Take full responsibility for electrical compliance across the site, ensuring statutory and regulatory requirements are met., • Manage and maintain the Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) programme., • Oversee electrical inspection and testing activities, ensuring work meets required standards., • Plan, prioritise, and manage remedial electrical works., • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and leadership to site electricians., • Manage and supervise external electrical contractors., • Lead electrical projects, upgrades, and site improvements., • Maintain accurate compliance documentation and records., • Enforce health and safety requirements, including safe systems of work., • Act as the site electrical technical authority. Skills & Experience • Proven experience in a commercial or industrial electrical environment., • Strong background in electrical testing and inspection, including EICRs., • Experience delivering electrical projects within a live industrial or manufacturing setting., • Solid working knowledge of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) with practical, site-based application., • Ability to read, understand, and interpret detailed electrical circuit diagrams., • Experience managing contractors and coordinating work safely and effectively., • Previous supervisory or lead engineering experience is desirable., • Strong attention to detail and methodical approach to compliance and documentation., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, confident liaising with electricians, contractors, and management., • Confident decision-maker, taking ownership and accountability., • Ability to mentor, support, and develop others, sharing technical knowledge and best practice., • Well organised, proactive, and able to prioritise in a busy operational environment., • Calm, professional, and effective under pressure. Qualifications Essential: • Recognised electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)., • City & Guilds 2391-52 (or equivalent) – Inspection & Testing., • HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)., • Membership of a relevant professional body., • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health & safety qualification.
