Portfolio Operations Manager Oldham £40k-£50k (Hybrid working) The Role Working in conjunction with the Finance Dept. of an asset finance leasing company, managing a small department, which will be responsible for processing and controlling the daily transactions for the main asset finance/loan portfolio of the Company. Responsibilities: Department Management • This is a new role managing a newly created department, which will include three employees who currently work in the finance and new business departments, • Manage the employees daily, including setting objectives, managing workloads, periodic staff reviews and annual pay review processes, • Establishing processes and procedures for the new department, working in conjunction with the finance department, • Develop processes to manage the portfolio Control Processing of the following areas 1. New Business Inception • Manage daily payout process for the completion of new deals, including review and approval of documentation at the time of payout, • Completion of booking of new deals into the portfolio system, • Processing all portfolio purchase invoices into the portfolio system and Sage ledgers, including Accounts Payable processing 2. Regular Portfolio Transactions during the lifetime of finance contracts • Processing AUDDIS and direct debit collections into the portfolio system and BACS, • Processing allocation of bank payments to relevant contracts in the portfolio system, • Processing allocation of bank receipts in the portfolio system, • Processing all areas of insurance product on asset portfolio, • Loading bad debt movements to the portfolio system, • Loading legal fees to the portfolio system, • Processing secondary shares and split income 3. End of Lease and Early Terminations Transactions, 4. Processing contract terminations / unwinds / write-offs to the portfolio system, 5. Assisting with the interaction of Portfolio Transactions with the Sage Accounts Package • Assist with Portfolio data Reconciliations., • Analyse records to identify and resolve any queries, • Accounts Payable in voice processing, • Reconcile transactions loaded to accounting software. Departmental Tasks • Monitor and respond to emails sent to the departmental inbox, • Answer incoming Telephone calls, • Provide departmental cover for other staff during busy periods, sickness or holidays as required, including:, • Portfolio management tasks, • Processing accounting transactions Oversee system enhancement, development and testing as and when required Experience Previous experience working in a similar role with management / supervisory experience is essential. • Previous experience in a processing department with significant transaction volume throughput, with varied transaction types, • Accounting knowledge – some accounting knowledge/experience is desirable, • Experience in / knowledge of the leasing industry (ideally) or the finance sector in general would be preferred, • Experience with Sage is preferable but not essential. Good background education with a minimum of GCSE grade 6 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English
