JOB TITLE: Warehouse Supervisor START DATE: ASAP REPORTS TO: Production Manager LOCATION: York, UK SALARY: £30,930 dependant on skills & experience. 25 Days Annual Holiday plus 8 Bank Holidays and a holiday purchase scheme. MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE: This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to provide day-to-day leadership of a small team of warehouse personnel. Manage daily warehouse operations, leading staff to ensure efficient receiving, storing, picking, and dispatching of goods while maintaining high standards of safety, inventory accuracy, and productivity. Often involving hands-on work, staff training and coordination with other departments such as logistics, planning, purchasing and customer service RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Supervise warehouse staff, assign tasks, encourage efficient output and monitor performance through 1-1’s and appraisals. Train any new employees, develop employee skills, enforce company policy and lead by example., 2. Oversee daily operations such as receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping goods. Ensure all goods received and despatched are labelled and stored correctly. Ensure customer orders are wrapped correctly, fulfilled accurately and on time. Managing all stock replenishment so that there is always access to components for production., 3. Inventory management, active involvement in the weekly PI process, conducting stock counts and aiding in the investigation of discrepancies., 4. Health & safety compliance, being a contributing member of the operations H&S team, chairing meetings and responsible for closing out allocated actions in a timely manner. Enforce safety procedures and proper equipment use, carry out daily FLT inspections along with monthly racking and ladder inspections. Reviewing risk assessments and safe systems of work., 5. Attend the monthly Operations Leadership team meetings, identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement, implement better workflows and processes., 6. Be a point of contact for contractors visiting site such as electricians, FLT engineers and general equipment inspections. Ensure contractors and visitors coming into the warehouse have signed in and have a permit to work where necessary., 7. Ensure housekeeping is kept up to a high standard in the warehouse and adjoining yards., 8. Checking stocks of pallets and warehouse consumables, requesting replenishment orders with Purchasing. ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE · Counterbalance FLT license. · Full UK driving license. · Must be able to comply with all company processes and procedures. · Personable, remains calm under pressure, displays good leadership and communication skills. · Energetic, flexible individual with a can-do attitude that can show initiative in a busy environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities. · Enthusiasm to be part of a close-knit team, with a keenness to have a positive effect on others. · Knowledge of warehouse administrative procedures, accuracy and attention to detail. · Computer literate – Experience of Microsoft Office packages. · Be able to work on own initiative and prioritise tasks effectively while working with teams or alone. DESIRABLE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE · Familiarity with SAGE 50 or other inventory management systems. · Experience and confidence with interacting with hauliers, customers and colleagues. · Knowledge of H&S systems and processes. · Experience of leading, coaching and development of others. · Stock control. · Initiative and desire to improve situations, systems and processes. WORKING HOURS · 07:00 – 15.00, Monday to Friday · Some flexibility in total hours or working pattern may be available depending upon individual circumstances & business needs
