We are recruiting for a Transport Shift Manager to lead a fast-paced transport operation within a large FMCG distribution environment, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient delivery performance. This role will take ownership of shift operations, team leadership, service delivery, compliance standards and KPI achievement while driving a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. \n Client Details \n Our client is a market-leading supply chain and logistics organisation supporting some of the world's most recognised consumer brands across the UK and Ireland. With a strong focus on safety, service, innovation and employee development, they offer a collaborative environment where operational leaders can genuinely make an impact. \n Description \n Key Responsibilities: \n \n\n • Lead and manage daily transport operations, ensuring all operational plans are executed effectively.\n, • Maintain full compliance with Operator's Licence requirements, EU Driving Regulations, Working Time Directive, Employment Law and Health & Safety legislation.\n, • Drive a proactive safety culture with a commitment to achieving zero accidents and incidents.\n, • Monitor and deliver transport KPIs, ensuring service levels and customer expectations are consistently achieved.\n, • Manage shift performance, resource allocation and workforce planning to meet changing business requirements.\n, • Act as the primary point of contact between transport operations and customer service teams.\n, • Ensure all operational documentation, audits and compliance records remain accurate and up to date.\n, • Support recruitment, onboarding and training activities to develop a competent and engaged workforce.\n, • Manage departmental costs and make operational decisions that align with budgetary targets.\n, • Maintain high operational standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives.\n\n Profile \n The Successful Candidate: \n \n\n • Previous experience managing teams within a transport, logistics or FMCG distribution environment.\n, • Strong understanding of transport legislation, compliance requirements and operational best practice.\n, • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop teams.\n, • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-moving environment.\n, • Effective communicator with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels.\n, • Experience using transport scheduling systems such as Paragon.\n, • Knowledge of JD Edwards software would be beneficial.\n, • CPC qualification preferred but not essential.\n, • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.\n, • A positive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach to change and continuous improvement.\n\n Job Offer \n What's on Offer: \n \n\n • Salary of £40,000 - £50,000.\n, • Opportunity to join a well-established and highly respected logistics organisation.\n, • Leadership position with significant operational responsibility and autonomy.\n, • Career development and progression opportunities within a growing business.\n, • Supportive and collaborative working environment.\n, • Exposure to a large-scale, high-volume FMCG transport operation.\n, • Ongoing training and professional development.\n
