Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer South London | £50,000 | 2 Days / 2 Nights / 4 Off Overview Are you a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for a role that offers excellent work-life balance, job security, and genuine career development? Due to continued growth and investment, our client, a leading international provider of textile, hygiene and facility services, is looking to recruit a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their established engineering team in Merton. Working within a busy manufacturing environment, you'll be responsible for maintaining production equipment, reducing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement projects to maximise plant performance and reliability. The Role As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining production machinery and site equipment, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure maximum operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) on manufacturing machinery and site equipment. Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults. Respond to reactive maintenance and breakdown situations to minimise downtime. Support machinery upgrades, installations and engineering projects. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and performance. Complete maintenance records and engineering documentation accurately. Work closely with production teams to maximise machine availability and OEE. Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety regulations and engineering standards. Skills & Experience Recognised Engineering Qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent). Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within Manufacturing, FMCG, Production, Industrial, Processing, Laundry or Packaging environments. Strong Electrical Maintenance and Mechanical Maintenance fault-finding skills. Experience carrying out both Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Maintenance. Excellent problem-solving abilities and proactive approach to maintenance. Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations. Desirable Skills Engineering Apprenticeship. 18th Edition Qualification. PLC Fault Finding experience. Knowledge of Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Motors, Sensors and Inverters.
