Full-Time Door & Hardware Mechanic | Commercial Division 8 Aftermarket Service  


Position Overview
Ally Door Hardware is seeking an independant, reliable, seasoned Door & Hardware Mechanic to join our growing commercial aftermarket service team. This position is responsible for servicing, repairing, adjusting, and installing commercial doors, locks, door closers, exit devices, and related architectural hardware throughout New York City.


The ideal candidate has experience in commercial doors and hardware, locksmithing, construction trades, carpentry, maintenance, and enjoys troubleshooting problems in the field.  Has the ability to carry heavy tool bags, hardware and doors and can travel on Mass Transit.  Candidates with 3 + locksmith experience are encouraged to apply.  


Responsibilities Commercial Door & Hardware Service:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and adjust commercial doors and hardware.
Install and service:
Mortise locks
Cylindrical locks
Door closers
Exit devices / panic hardware
Hinges and pivots
Door coordinators
Thresholds and weatherstripping
Repair doors that:
Do not latch properly
Drag, sag, or bind
Have damaged hardware
Have ADA or life safety operational issues
Field Service Operations
Respond to scheduled service calls throughout NYC.
Complete multiple service calls per day.
Communicate job status with the Sales/Project Manager and office staff.
Take job site photos before and after work is completed.
Maintain professional relationships with clients and building personnel.
Documentation:
Complete field work orders accurately and completely.
Record labor hours and materials used.
Document additional deficiencies and recommended repairs.
Submit completed work orders and photos daily.
Tool Management:
Maintain company vehicle in a clean and organized manner.
Maintain inventory of commonly used parts and hardware.
Report inventory shortages and tool issues promptly.
Safety:
Follow company safety policies and procedures.
Use proper PPE and safe work practices.
Maintain clean and safe work areas.
