Job DescriptionDescription: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Staff Accountant with expertise in QuickBooks Online and a solid grounding in GAAP. This role supports daily accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records in a dynamic asset recovery business. Key Responsibilities: • Manage and record daily financial transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO), ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards., • Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoices and payment processing., • Process vendor invoices, including verifying approvals, coding expenses, and entering them into QBO., • Schedule and process payments to vendors via checks, ACH, or wire transfers., • Reconcile accounts payable ledger to ensure all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted., • Assist with 1099 preparation and filing for contractors., • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records., • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and internal reports., • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and accruals., • Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and recommend improvements., • Maintain fixed asset schedules and assist with depreciation calculations., • Collaborate with the team to streamline processes and improve efficiency., • Assist with audits and special projects as needed., • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, customers, and other departments., • Assist with training and onboarding of new team members or interns., • Maintain confidentiality of financial data and uphold ethical standards., • Process payroll entries, including salary, bonuses, benefits, and tax withholdings, and ensure proper classification and reconciliation in the general ledger., • Coordinate with payroll providers to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing., • Reconcile payroll-related accounts, including payroll liabilities, accrued wages, and benefits.Requirements: Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field., • Experience: 2+ years of accounting experience, with demonstrated proficiency in QuickBooks Online., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel., • Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)., • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with other accounting software is a plus., • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines., • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Preferred Skills: • Experience with financial reporting and budget preparation., • Familiarity with automation tools such as SaaAnt, Bill.com or Dext.
