Job Description Job Title: RN Wound Care Pay: $3,822.80 per week Shift: Mon-Fri, 8 am- 4:30 pm Location: Brooklyn, NY 11203 Schedule: 13 Weeks (Possible Extensions). Job Duties: Conducts health assessment interviews focused on wound, ostomy, and continence-related care. Performs focused physical assessment, develops plan of care based on the diagnosis and individual client needs. Recommends medications and treatments as appropriate. Job Responsibilities: Develop, revise, and evaluate standards of care, and assist in the selection of supplies, technology, and equipment. Assess and document patient response to wound care, ostomy, continence, fistula, and complex wound treatment. Evaluate the quality and delivery of care provided by the clinical staff on the unit. Works collaboratively with the health care team and makes referrals to other disciplines as indicated. Teaches, counsels, and assists individuals and families to assume responsibility for the prevention of complications as they relate to patients with ostomies, wounds, or continence problems. Develop, provide, and evaluate staff education programs, i.e., new employee orientation, in-services, and continuing education programs. Routinely providing comprehensive assessments of patients at risk for developing pressure injuries. Initiating preventative measures. Escalate and communicate challenges identified, including ethical issues and issues related to conflict resolution. Routinely collaborating with the Assistant Director of Nursing for Wound Care to initiate and recommend best practices based on prudent assessment. Participating in Unit/Department Quality Improvement and Hospital-Wide Q.I. activities, i.e., Incidence, Prevalence Studies, and Nursing Quality. Providing culturally competent patient, family, and staff education consistent with cultural, ethnic, religious, and other belief systems. Maintaining the security and confidentiality of data and information in accordance with patient rights policies. Achieving and maintaining a level of professional competency by engaging in activities consistent with clinical practice and the population to serve. Identifies available community resources helpful to clients, refers and assists clients in utilizing such resources. Asset management related to rented equipment. e.g., Specialty beds and Negative Pressure Devices. Required Skills & Experience: Two (2) years of Med/Surg experience. Wound and Colostomy experience. Required Education: Associate’s degree (ASN, ADN) from an accredited Nursing Program. Required Certifications & Licensure: • New York State RN License., • Primary Source Verification of License and Registration of Registered Professional Nurse from NYS Department of Education (NYSED)., • AHA BLS., • Current certification in one of the following:, • Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) issued by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB)., • Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) issued by the WOCNCB., • Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) issued by the WOCNCB., • Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) issued by the American Board of Wound Management (ABWM)., • Wound Care Certified Certification (WCC) issued by the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy (NAWCO). About the Position The Senior Manager, Planning and Design will support the national growth of the WEDG® (Waterfront Edge Design Guidelines) program and manage Waterfront Alliance’s New York City design projects. The role will serve as a subject matter expert on resilient design within the organization, oversee communications and strategic initiatives for WEDG, and serve as project manager for upcoming resilience and waterfront access studies. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional in landscape architecture, architecture, engineering, or urban design. Other Duties as Assigned (5%) * As needed, the role will support other team members on projects that contribute to the overall mission of the organization including events, educational programming, and operations. Required Skills and Attributes * Five years of experience in architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, urban design, construction, or real estate development. * Experience in design projects in a project management role. Consulting experience on design projects is a plus. * Familiarity with and a passion for climate change, waterfront planning, community engagement, land use regulations, and design. * Excellent oral and written communications, presentation, and public speaking skills. * Ability to manage multiple projects at once, as well as internal teams for marketing and program development, and external consultants. * Strong organizational skills and ability to work with a high degree of independence and entrepreneurialism. * Licensure in landscape architecture, engineering, or architecture is a plus, as are sustainability certifications including WEDG, Envision, or LEED. If they have not done so previously, the Senior Manager, Planning and Design will be expected to complete and pass the WEDG Professionals Course in their first two weeks.
