Job Description Vacuum Manufacturing Company Urgently Hiring Material Handlers to Start As Soon As Possible! Location: Rutherford, NJ Shift: 1st: 6am-4:30pm (Monday-Thursday) 2nd: 4:30pm-3:00am (Monday night-Friday Morning) Pay: $25.44/hour ; Overtime: $38.16/hour Job Description The Material Handler plays a key role in preparing products for shipment by accurately weighing, packing, labeling, and documenting outgoing materials. This position ensures all packages and shipping containers meet quality and regulatory standards, are properly organized for dispatch, and are supported by complete and accurate records within the company’s systems. Responsibilities • Weigh packages and ensure all items are labeled accurately according to shipping requirements., • Inspect packages to confirm they are not damaged and meet quality standards before shipment., • Inspect shipping containers to verify they comply with applicable shipping regulations., • Assemble daily orders based on shipping location or other defined shipping categories to support efficient logistics., • Keep detailed records of packages, including delivery notes, invoices, and other shipping documentation., • Complete packing and order forms with all relevant and accurate shipping information., • Seal shipping containers securely and label them clearly to ensure correct identification and routing., • Clean shipping containers and other shipping supplies to maintain a safe and organized work area., • Place manufactured items into appropriate containers, seal and label them, and prepare them for transport., • Perform final checks to identify defective items and ensure only approved items proceed to shipment., • Ensure all items reach the loading area or designated inventory location in a timely manner., • Maintain accurate records of materials and shipments within the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system., • Support general labor tasks related to material handling and packaging as needed., • Follow workplace safety regulations and use sound judgment to maintain a safe working environment., • Work overtime when production demand requires it, including potential overtime on Fridays. Essential Skills • Experience with forklift operation and material handling in a production or warehouse environment., • Proficiency in packing and packaging processes, including sealing, labeling, and preparing items for transport., • Ability to perform general labor duties related to materials, shipping, and inventory handling., • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate labeling, documentation, and quality checks., • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to coordinate with team members and document shipments., • Ability to exercise good judgment related to safety and consistently adhere to workplace safety regulations., • Basic math skills to support weighing, counting, and verifying quantities., • Basic computer and keyboarding skills to work within an ERP system and maintain accurate records., • Willingness and ability to work overtime when production demand requires it. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Comfort working with shipping documentation such as delivery notes, invoices, and packing forms., • Ability to organize orders by shipping location or category to support efficient logistics., • Capability to perform visual inspections of packages and containers to identify defects or damage., • Adaptability to learn and train on different shifts as required by production needs.
