Job Description Job Title: Forklift Operator and Material Handler Job Description The Forklift Operator and Material Handler safely loads and unloads trucks, moves raw materials and finished goods throughout the facility, and supports warehouse operations by operating a sit-down forklift and handling inventory. This role ensures accurate material movement, maintains a clean and safe work area, and contributes to efficient shipping, receiving, and production reporting activities. Responsibilities • Load and unload trucks with raw materials and finished goods in a safe and efficient manner., • Operate a sit-down forklift to pull, lift, stack, tier, and move products throughout the facility., • Stack pallets on racks up to five levels high while maintaining stability and safety., • Perform required safety checks and inspections on mobile equipment prior to operation., • Safely navigate forklifts and other mobile equipment through the facility to transport finished goods to designated locations., • Receive inbound freight, raw materials, and finished goods and move them to appropriate storage or production areas., • Use an MRP system to complete production reporting and accurately record material movements., • Use RF scanners to perform inventory transactions, picking, and tracking of materials., • Support shipping and receiving activities, including packaging, labeling, and preparing orders for shipment., • Perform order picking, packing, and general material handling tasks as needed., • Assist with warehouse inventory activities, including counting, organizing, and replenishing stock., • Follow all facility safety requirements and procedures, including proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)., • Comply with environmental and hazardous waste disposal procedures in daily operations., • Participate in process improvement initiatives and other operational activities to enhance efficiency and safety., • Proven experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment., • Experience in loading and unloading trucks with raw materials and finished goods., • Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes., • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly., • Material handling experience, including stacking, packing, and order picking., • Basic data entry skills for recording inventory and production information., • Experience using RF scanners for inventory control and order processing., • Ability to follow safety procedures and perform pre-operation equipment safety checks., • SAP or similar MRP system experience preferred for production reporting and inventory transactions., • Experience with FedEx or similar shipping systems is an advantage., • Experience in warehouse inventory control and general labor tasks., • Experience in packaging, packing, and stacking materials in a manufacturing or distribution setting., • Ability to work overtime when required to meet production and shipping demands. Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing environment with active warehouse operations. You will work on a shift alongside a team of approximately 15 warehouse team members, coordinating material movement and supporting production needs. The facility requires the use of steel toe boots and ear protection, and adherence to all safety and PPE guidelines is essential. The work involves operating forklifts, handling materials, and using technologies such as RF scanners and an MRP system within a busy, fast-paced warehouse setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
