Role Description: The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely flow of raw materials, components, work-in-process (WIP), finished goods, and production supplies within ALE’s lithium-ion battery manufacturing operation. This supervisory role has ownership of warehouse operations, inventory control, material handling, receiving, production staging, and shipping while partnering closely with Operations, Quality, Planning, Procurement, Engineering, R&D, and Finance. The Warehouse Supervisor will supervise a team of two or more warehouse employees and will spend the majority of time planning, directing, and controlling warehouse operations while establishing scalable warehouse processes, inventory controls, standard work, and material-flow discipline, providing hands-on support as needed. The warehouse team is expected to expand as ALE increases production volume, customer programs, shifts, and overall business scale Key Responsibilities Warehouse Operations & Material Handling • Lead receiving, put-away, inventory storage, material handling, production staging, kitting, and shipping operations., • Ensure raw materials, components, WIP, finished goods, and supplies are clearly identified, labeled, and safely stored., • Maintain defined storage locations, visual controls, FOD/ESD prevention standards, and 5S organization across all areas., • Enforce safe storage and handling guidelines for lithium-ion battery materials, chemicals, and controlled goods in compliance with EHS and Quality protocols. Inventory Management & Control • Maintain high inventory accuracy between physical stock and ERP system records., • Promptly record receiving, transfers, issues, returns, and shipments in ERP., • Execute cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, root-cause issues, and support physical inventory audits., • Manage lot/batch traceability, shelf-life controls, FIFO/FEFO rules, and serial-number tracking for critical components. Receiving & Quality Inspection Coordination • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and receiving documentation, including quantities, part numbers, lot/batch information, and visible shipping condition., • Coordinate closely with Quality for materials requiring incoming inspection, sampling, verification, testing, or Quality approval before release to production., • Ensure materials requiring inspection are clearly identified and physically segregated in designated Incoming Inspection / Quality Hold locations until Quality disposition is completed., • Ensure no material requiring Quality inspection is issued, staged, or released to production before Quality acceptance., • Provide Quality with material, supplier documentation, certificates, lot information, and receiving records required to complete incoming inspection., • Maintain clear physical and ERP status segregation for Pending Inspection, Accepted, Quarantined, Rejected, and Nonconforming material; coordinate material movement after Quality disposition., • Identify and escalate suspect or counterfeit parts to Quality immediately and keep them segregated pending disposition., • Support return-to-supplier activities for rejected material and work with Quality, Procurement, and Planning to resolve receiving discrepancies or inspection delays. Production Material Support • Ensure production receives the correct material, quantity, lot, and revision at the required time., • Coordinate material staging and kitting against production schedules and work orders and support timely replenishment to manufacturing areas., • Maintain clear segregation of production material, R&D material, customer-owned material, quarantined/nonconforming material, and finished goods., • Coordinate return of unused materials from production and ensure materials are properly identified and transacted back into inventory., • Identify and promptly escalate material shortages, inventory discrepancies, or material-flow risks that could impact production or customer commitments. Shipping & Logistics • Oversee outbound shipments, packaging, labeling, documentation, and carrier coordination., • Ensure finished-goods shipments meet applicable customer, Quality, traceability, safety, and documentation requirements., • Prepare, package, mark, and label lithium battery and related dangerous-goods shipments for ground and air transport; obtain and maintain dangerous-goods shipping certification (ALE-sponsored) within 90 days of hire and partner with EHS and Quality on shipping requirements., • Handle, store, and ship export-controlled materials, parts, and documentation in accordance with ALE’s export compliance procedures, and coordinate export shipping documentation with ALE’s export compliance function. ERP, Documentation & Traceability • Maintain accurate warehouse transactions within ALE’s ERP system and support work-order material reconciliation., • Maintain warehouse procedures, work instructions, forms, records, and material-control documentation in accordance with ALE’s quality management system., • Support implementation and continuous improvement of barcode scanning, labeling, location control, and other warehouse technologies as ALE scales. Leadership & Continuous Improvement • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of warehouse personnel; manage shifts, priorities, and performance., • Track warehouse KPIs: inventory accuracy (≥ 98%), cycle count completion (100%), shipping/receiving accuracy (≥ 99.5%), and 5S compliance., • Drive continuous improvement initiative to optimize material flow, space utilization, and productivity. Required Qualifications • 5+ years of experience in warehouse, inventory control, material handling, logistics, or manufacturing operations., • Strong knowledge of inventory control, cycle counting, receiving, shipping, material staging, material traceability, and warehouse operations., • Hands-on ERP/MRP experience., • Working knowledge of FIFO/FEFO, 5S, Lean manufacturing, visual management, and warehouse standard work., • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills., • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing environment while building scalable systems and developing the future warehouse organization., • Ability to obtain dangerous-goods shipping certification after hire. Preferred Qualifications • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related field; equivalent relevant experience will be considered., • 2+ years of supervisory or team-lead experience., • Manufacturing experience; lithium-ion battery, aerospace, automotive, electronics, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing experience is a plus., • NetSuite experience., • Experience with lot-controlled and/or serial-controlled inventory and work-order material transactions., • Current forklift operator certification., • Current dangerous-goods shipping certification for lithium batteries (ground and air)., • Experience in an AS9100D, ISO 9001, or similar quality-managed environment. Direct Reports • Two or more warehouse employees. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for developing the warehouse organization and will lead additional receiving, inventory control, material handling, shipping, and warehouse personnel as ALE scales. Work Environment • Manufacturing and R&D facility with exposure to battery materials, chemicals, powered industrial equipment, warehouse traffic, and controlled/regulated processes., • Requires regular use of PPE and strict adherence to site safety, chemical-handling, material-storage, and hazardous-material requirements., • Requires frequent presence in warehouse and manufacturing areas and hands-on support of receiving, material movement, inventory, staging, and shipping activities as needed. Physical Requirements • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods., • Must be able to bend, squat, reach, and climb ladders and step stools regularly., • Must be able to lift, pull, and push up to 50 lbs., • Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack when needed, after ALE certification, and wear required PPE in warehouse and production areas.
