The RoleAs the Director of Warehouse Operations, you will be responsible for the daily operations and efficiency of the warehouse and the direction and productivity of the Warehouse Managers and their team members. The purpose of this position is to manage all warehouse and distribution functions, including operations, transportation, and personnel. You will have the opportunity to lead and develop your own team; one of your main focuses will be motivating, mentoring, and coaching your team. You will be responsible for engaging your team to maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance performance and engagement. To achieve this, managers are expected to provide their associates with the tools and decision making needed for success. You will keenly drive productivity and efficiency through data-driven decisions and analytical problem-solving. Key responsibilities include:1. Inbound Purchasing and logistics: Placing orders necessary to satisfy production needs2. Warehouse Operations: Direct and oversee two Warehouse Managers who oversee the Warehouse Runners and the inventory.3. Order Fulfillment: Delivery of inventory to ongoing project sites and inventory management, warranty processing, and returns.Direct and assign work; set performance objectives and monitor performance of all distribution center departmentsManage distribution center activities, operations and forecasts; Monitor progress towards goalsPlan and direct the day-to-day transportation functionsCarry out management and direction of responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; reviewing work forecasts, determining productivity requirements, and balancing labor across your center; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; conducting staff meetings; addressing complaints and resolving problemsWork to KPIs such as Delivery On Time, Order Error Rate, Pick Order Rate, and other performance goals and objectives to achieve production expectations and ensure accuracy and quality; provide reporting of sameProvide support during the rollout/implementation of newer systems/processes and gather feedbackProactively identify and lead process improvement initiativesLead and develop a team of warehouse and distribution center associatesEnsure procedures are followed for building security and product loss preventionSupport all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all Associates, and keep up-to-date on the latest federal and state safety regulationsAudit and report inventory while making recommendations on which items to order and restockDirect warehouse associates, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipmentEstablish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouseSet warehouse and team goals in collaboration with executive management and other team leadsMonitor workplace performance and lead training initiatives to improve employeesCommunicate with other departments to ensure products are shipped in a timely manner Knowledge, Skills and Abilities RequiredMust have very strong customer service orientation with a high sense of urgency in meeting objectives and deadlines5 Years of HVAC, Warehousing ExperienceBachelor’s degree and 5+ years of management/director experienceKnowledge and experience of in-bound logistics, fulfillment & transportation operationsExperience in planning, staffing, budgeting, and organizingAbility to develop effective relationships, provide leadership, and integrate diverse functions and individuals toward profitability objectivesExperienced with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and ExcelExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to find practical and simple solutions to complex problems without sacrificing quality or core functionalityMust have model leadership behaviors including the ability to defuse conflictWillingness to develop a mentoring relationship in order to contribute experience, skills, and wisdom to subordinate employees for their developmentAbility to interpret HR regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manualsAbility work occasional Saturdays.
