Job DescriptionJob Description Who will you be working with? MEI produces cab comfort products for locomotives. The Material Handler reports to the Production Supervisor. The Production team ensures compliance with Wabtec’s quality standards, while working efficiently and effectively within a lean environment, and is instrumental in furnishing our customers with a quality and reliable product. How will you make a difference? As a member of the production team, The Material Handler loads, moves material to designated warehouse locations, and distributes material to assembly line within the facility ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions. The position is a Monday through Friday, first shift position, with occasional overtime on Saturdays, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The position requires the employee to be on-site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities. Requires daily face-to-face interaction and communication with internal and external individuals. What do we want to know about you? Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.) • High School Diploma or equivalent., • Experience in production and warehouse environments., • Requires a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office., • Required to have a valid drivers license for forklift certification. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Ability to work unsupervised, or with limited direction., • High level interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with others., • Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement change in process and procedures as needed. What will your typical day look like? Essential Duties: • Moves approved materials to designated warehouse locations., • Arranges materials to FIFO and honeycomb standards., • Distributes materials to production line(s) as needed., • Maintain, organize warehouse, and inventory locations to ensure a safe, clean, and healthy environment., • Participate in cycle count and physical inventory activities., • Operate forklift, cranes, hand carts, floor dolly, pallet jacks, scissor lift, ladders, and other warehouse machines or vehicles., • Company forklift, heavy equipment, crane certification will be required within first six months of employment., • Complete various types of transactions within ERP system., • Monitors stock bins and reports stock needs to Supervisor or Purchasing Manager., • Follows all safety and PPE requirements., • Adheres to the Wabtec Code of Conduct., • Complete other duties as assigned. Work Environment: (The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.) • The employee will work on the production shop floor that does not have controlled temperatures and will vary based on weather conditions. The hourly rate for this role is in the range of $22.00-24.00 per hour The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
